Don't have a specific player to mention, but we definitely need, amongst the recruitment, a dead ball specialist. Some one that can take a free kick and place a penalty. Mental how many penalties we missed and lack of free kicks that went to waste.

Any modern day Celtic team had that, a right good keeper and physicality in the side. I hope Rodgers adds the same this summer

Thing is its about adding quality, not just throwing cash at the window..

It's about getting players in that will improve the quality of the squad and as we approach the end of the season we've still have glaring holes in our recruitment structure.

Knowing the Celtic board it’ll be something like:

    In:
    GK:
    Kelly Free
    Forster 1m

    LB:
    Beck 2.5m

    CB:
    Clarke-Salter 5m
    McKenna Free

    Cm:
    Armstrong free
    Miler 6m
    Bernardo 4m

    St:
    Idah 4m
    Kvistgaarden 7m

We’ll be told that’s it’s a record breaking transfer window and we should all be delighted we signed 30m worth of players when in reality we’ve sold more then brought.

    O’Riley 25m
    Hatatae 20m
    Johnstone 3m
    Rocky 2m
    Lagerbielke 1m
    And a few more…

Some rumours that Scott McKenna is close to signing. I would be fairly sure we will go in for Owen Beck as left back- someone we can develop. Goalkeeper will be difficult to get right as we saw with Barkas. Idah will hopefully sign on a permanent deal and we will need to replace O'Riley and Bernardo who will both be gone. Next year we should be looking at:

    New GK

    Johnston
    CCV
    New CB
    Taylor

    McGregor
    Hatate
    New CAM

    Kuhn
    Kyogo(Idah)
    Maeda

I think we also need another starting winger, and an athletic midfielder to compete with Hatate or McGregor (perhaps a DM and then you can use McGregor further forward in rotation with Hatate some games).

And you have Taylor next year? I will be raging if we don’t sign a starting LB

I think if we sign Beck it will be with the view to replacing Taylor over the longer term. Taylor has been a real solid player for us and although an upgrade would be preferable I can see us signing Beck. I agree in regards another winger starting as well- but Kuhn has good potential. A replacement for O'Riley will be imperative. We might bring in 2 or 3 midfielders.

I’d rather we sign someone who is already better than him. I like Taylor but he’s a big weak spot in our team.

Beck looked promising and I was all for signing him, but think now that we should prioritise someone who has the ability to come in and improve the team already.

My prediction for how the market might look like

    Out (noteworthy sales)
    O'Riley circa £25mill
Kyogo or Maeda for £20mill (I will * cry if either are sold)

    Ins
    GK Roos
    ST Idah and maybe Miovski
    LB Beck or Doig

Then after that we will see some real random coming for the tried and tested sub £3mill punts

And we will be left raging that we've let both O'Riley and either of Kyogo or Maeda go and done * all to replace them

I really struggle to have faith in the board really letting loose in the transfer market

We are not getting 20 million for Kyogo or Maeda. Not a chance. Or do you think both sold for a combined 20 million?

I think this is the most depressing of the lot. Roos as our first choice keeper lol, guy isn’t good enough for Aberdeen let alone us

Aberdeen’s former chief Keith Wyness has claimed Celtic could make four to five new signings this summer after winning the Scottish Premiership.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Aberdeen between 2000 and 2004, had lengthy spells as the chief of Everton and Aston Villa and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – suggested the focus will go on progression in the Champions League in the new Swiss-style format.

Celtic lifted the Scottish Premiership title on Wednesday (15 May) with one game to spare after winning 5-0 away at Kilmarnock.

Sources have told Football Insider that Celtic will bank a guaranteed £35million from playing in the Champions League – with their league win qualifying them directly to the league phase.

The Hoops will play eight times from September to January in Europe with 24 of the 36 sides progressing to play a knockout game

A good performance in Europe is important for Scottish clubs in the 2024-25 campaign, with the Scottish Premiership set to lose automatic Champions League qualification as things stand

Wyness told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “I’m expecting Celtic to be looking at four to five new signings this summer.

“I’m hearing that Brendan Rodgers will place more of a focus on getting through in the Champions League.

They had a difficult time this year with that particular issue, with some heavy losses.

I hope they can do so because the Scottish coefficient needs it.

It wasn’t an impressive campaign but we only had one heavy loss, and that was with 10 men for the entire game away to Atletico.

I'm excited for the window but I know it'll be a disappointment.

I'm not sure on Beck. Whenever I've watched him against us, he looked absolutely out of his depth.

I'd take Mckenna but only if we bring in another center back and punt Nawrocki and Lagerbielke.
