    Aye 100%

Surely we appoint an experienced DoF to over see the whole footballing operation.

It's not too much to ask but it's probably unlikely.

I don’t have a problem with O’Dea moving into that role considering he won’t be coaching. Glorified HR role. Someone the younger boys will know and feel comfortable with.

Mulgrew is the same, personality wise. His coaching sound like its coming along well, he has the right ideas. Whether it works in reality who knows. But we could obviously do far better there.

With the youngsters I don’t mind “Celtic men” having the job. Teach them how special it is to be there.

Shouldn’t be any pals act in the B’s and First Team though, older players don’t need that carry on.

IF, big IF, we win the league and guarantee CL we are in a ridiculous place financially. We will make money from a few on loan and in the squad just now. Sell-ons from Frimpong and likely £25m for O'Reily.

It is also terrifying that we have no solid recruitment structure in place and no noises about getting one.

Is Mulgrew coming in? He’s been quite public about where he’s been visiting to learn how a lot of different good level teams, managers and coaches are operating. And any analysis and stuff he’s done I like what he comes out with, it’s not obvious * that we all know, it’s stuff that I’ve not realised and makes me take note and say ahh, that’s spot on.

And then if you listen to him leaving us, as a highly rated youngster who got too big for his boots, and realising he had * it after the clubs he ended up at and needing to work like * to get where he had the chance of before his ego and a mood got WGS to write him off. And getting back here, we needed a full new team. He was a bosman, and after an atrocious performance in a qualifier was bombed out, and he got his chance at Ibrox Sammy Sunday. At LM, and he never looked back. That mentality and story to young guys with an ego, off a coach they respect if he’s as good as I think he can be there…

Another example of nepotism and looking at guys connected to us, and disappointing that we don’t have any other plan. But I also like this appointment if he is. I just wish it wasn’t us just looking nowhere but guys that have earned a wage at us before, or worse, their children. But I really like Gav Strachan as well :56::56:

We should get some coaching staff in who
    1)Aren't ex Celtic players & 2) Aren't defenders.
Both Kewell & Duff have been quoted as having a great influence on our forwards, And I can't see a team of O'Dea, Mulgrew, McManus & Kennedy having the same level of insight in being an attacker.

We'd also benefit massively from having different cultures and insights in the coaching team, people who grew up and played in Spain, Germany, South America and under great managers and can bring a new realm of experience to the team. At the moment most of our coaches have never left the SPL and had their most success under Lennon & Strachan

Your right that he does come across well and as someone who has put a lot of work into becoming a coach.
Youve made a good argument for him.but I seriously doubt whoever is making this appointment has looked at any of that or have had to talk up his case as well as I have. It's much more likely another lazy appointment of "he's an ex player, that's out of work".
The fact the other name linked with it is Jonny Hayes makes it look worse too. I'm unaware of what coaching experience he has but again the link is ex player likely to be out of work come the summer.

A champions league club run like a bowling club.

I really like Charlie, not just as a guy but I think he seems a cut above your average ex-pro when it comes to analysis and how he talks about coaching. I'd be delighted if he came back to the club in that capacity.

After the Christmas window when we were all expecting 3 quality signings (I was checking Celticnewsnow loads each day). I just don’t speculate or listen to it, too many disappointing windows so I’ll wait until the new players are paraded on Celtic TV

100%. Can just imagine them all staunin around, comparing the best places for a roll n square, talking about a quality night at the Top Golf the previous weekend; O’Dea waxing lyrical about his latest BMW, etc.

Fire in a few ambitious, hard-working, ex-Bundesliga or La Liga guys to send a rocket up them.

At the very least transfers can't be any worse than this season.I don't think there this a player who has joined this season who I'd be disappointed to see go. Although, apart from CCV (who'd already been here a year) none who joined in the last 2 years.

We've spent over £7m on CBs, all wasted, about 10m on wingers, no real improvement on what was here (I'm not including Jota), 3.5m on CM and nowt.

We need so much this window. GK, 2 CBs, LB, 2 CMs, 2 wingers, striker.

I'd honestly happily take players from SPL than punts from fairly mediocre leagues like Cyprus, Korea and Austria. We've seen players leave our league and do really well. We need to stop looking down at them.

3 CBs, 3 CMs, 3 wingers and a striker signed last 2 windows and not convinced with any of them. Thank * Lawwell Jnr gone is all I’ll say

Right so the way I see it now that the leagues essentially wrapped up....

Honestly, probably 2x Keepers. Hart retiring, Siegrest for the off (hopefully) and Bain pure pish.

RB need to move AJ into a squad player
LB think it's clear Taylor needs replacing.
CB x 2 Scales way off of late, Lagerbielke and Nawrocki clearly not rated.

CM O'Riley will be for the off unfortunately and I don't think Bernardo is the answer.

RW Not sure on Kuhn or Yang, have shown glimpses but nothing to convince.

    ST. Maybe even x2

    Out
    Bain
    Benji
    Nawrocki
    Lagerbielke
    Odin Holm
    Bernardo
    Oh

If we bring in another RB then AJ has to go and Ralston the club grown back up. With LB I'd say your replacing Bernabei not Taylor. Taylor still has a place and would be good back up.
Bain as HG 3rd choice is fine. He shouldn't be 2nd choice though. The rest of the list I pretty much agree with, I'd get Yang on a loan to SPL though, possibly same with Holm.

The fact we need 2 GKs, 2 CBs, LB, 2 CMs, 2 W and a striker is worrying because some signings will not be good.

I didn't think about it until after the game, but today's starting 11 (and arguably our best possible lineup) consisted entirely of players here before Rodgers' return.

That's some indictment of our recruitment this season. We lost Starfelt, Jota, Mooy and Abada and replaced them with... backups from last season. Great to win the league again, but we can't make the same mistakes next season.

Giakoumakis as well with Oh replacing him until Idah in January..

We need some proper quality in the door now. Zero excuses....we've had 2 pish windows..

Need to see a big change in the playing staff. We are going to need 5 or 6 players who can come straight into the first team and have got some amount of deadwood to try and get rid of. No excuses not to back Brendan here, need some quality signed for Goalkeeper, Left back, Left Centre Back, Defensive Midfielder, Attacking Midfielder if MOR leaves, Right Winger and a Striker.

Groundhog day but it's really a massive window for us. The huns need a complete clear out and they won't have much money to do it.

We need 5 or 6 players ready to walk straight into the starting team, and that's with us keeping all our best players... which won't happen.

GK, RB, CB, LB, DM and RW are desperately needed. Plus another winger, striker and centre half. And if MOR goes, then another CM.

I don't think for a minute we'll sign that many players, but it's what we need to kick on. And we need to punt about 10-15 players from the squad.

Near impossible to do that much business and make sure every transfer works out. So looking forward to the likes of yourself kicking up * and trying to create a negative atmosphere over it, heaping major pressure on team and manager, rather than back them to the hilt and helping them kick on.
