Yep, suggesting injured players coming back will be like new signings and not to get our hopes up in January. Same * different season.

He was never gonna seriously answer that question in a press conference. Despite it being a very good one.

He won't be happy with the summer. How could he be.

What I will say is his body language isn't great and he's been giving signs in the press past few weeks to suggest he's not been given what he was perhaps promised.

Can we not reopen the Brendan thread? Feels weird after how active the Ange one was.

Wasn't expecting much in January and that kind of confirms it. I have accused this board of corporate sabotage of the team before and it looks that was again.

Just to touch on recruitment, in the summer window you signed nine new players and at the weekend only two of them started in Palma and Phillips whose loan deal finishes soon. In the previous fixture, only Palma started. Looking back, would you say you were satisfied with the summer activity, and are you confident going forward in January that you’ll be able to get the first team ready players that you mentioned in terms of experience and quality?

I don’t need to look back. The players were signed and are in here. They are players that may not be for now but may be players that down the line become really good players for Celtic. when you’re coming into a club like Celtic, at 20 years of age it can be a real challenge. The adaption of coming to another country can be tough. Those guys have signed long contracts, and hopefully, in that time they can show that they can be Celtic players. Looking forward, we want to improve the squad, and I think we’ll do that one way with players coming back that can prove influential for us and hopefully, if there’s the right players available we can improve in key areas that we would like to.

Really hope we got someone in with a bit of energy and enthusiasm. A left sided Frimpong would be amazing.

Recruitment in the summer was an abomination. Being totally honest though I think we can see that if the recruitment team are tasked with finding first team players and given the funds to make that happen then the hit rate is much better. OK Nawrocki in the summer is a write off-however typically if we spend £3.5 million or over we have some good success. In the past year or two we have signed the following for that price tag or above:

    - Luis Palma: Signed for around £4.25 million he is a very good player who will go on to be one of our key men, convinced of that.

    - Maik Nawrocki: Actually looked decent early in the season. Big disappointment that he is seen as not physically up to it since returning. Signed for £4 million or so.

    - Alistair Johnston: The fact we have not missed Juranovic at all shows how good a sighing Johnston was. Signed for £3.5million.

    - Jota: Signed on a one season loan but the scouts who recommended him must surely still be with us. One of our best signings in years. Signed permanently for £6 million.

    - Cameron Carter Vickers: Also signed on an initial loan. Again someone who was surely scouted and we kept tabs on. Signed for £6 million.

    - Alexandro Bernabei: Hasn't worked out. Will probably have a good career back home- more likely as a winger I would say. Bit of a loose cannon. Signed for £4 million.

    - Liel Abada: Superb young player who has a really bright future. One of our key men over the last couple of seasons particularly in the big games. Signed for £3.6 million.

    - Carl Starfelt: Did a fine job for us and built a brilliant partnership with CCV. Badly missing him this season. Signed for £4 million or so.

When we start going down the £1-2 million route we can see how that hit rate degrades badly. The successes of Maeda, Hatate and O'Riley has I think blinded the Board into believing that these type of players can be found. I think we struck lucky.

    In a nutshell.

Say yes or no and it creates unnecessary headlines. He isn't daft.

It would be counter productive for him to come out and say "the players are * I can't wait to bring in a new eleven and ship these frauds out in January" he said something about adding a quality a few weeks which I thought was odd given he needs to rely on who he's got until January.

We'll know at the end of the winter transfer window if he's been backed, if he hasn't been the board need chased.

Good to get a win tonight.

I still genuinely believe with just those 2 or 3 extra quality players we are getting minimum 9pts in this group. Opportunity slipped away and our own fault.

You'll be loving our mediocrity mate.

This is your wet dream. You were delighted with how the summer went so you're as bad as the board really as you enable those *.

I want to see progress and with just a tiny bit of ambition we would have made it this year.

Whose likely to go to the Asian Cup? I never have a clue who’s getting picked apart from Maeda he seems to always be there.

Will an out of form Kyogo be going? Or a Hatate who’s missed the first half of the season? Oh seems a regular in SK squad I think.

    What day/days are squads announced?

Good point here. I've been assuming that Kyogo would be away but he was left out the World Cup squad so it's not a given.

I'd assume Hatate won't be going. Would be some result if it was just Maeda and Oh we lost for it.

Stephen McGowan thinks we will sign the Portuguese boy at left back. Thiago Araujo.

Thank * we’re looking at left backs but the video I saw of Araujo didn’t excite me much
