Seems we are actively trying for LB. But why on 31st and 1st have we all of a sudden started scrambling about? We’ve known since last May (maybe before) that we needed a new LB.

Go give Hearts £5m and get Shankland and Cochrane id say :56:

Like others have said we have all this money in the bank, our * board make jokes about it and swing their dicks and crack jokes about the zombies. Yet we are the ones acting like we are skint and struggling for money.

It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever, the last win against them has * Rodgers over cause the * that run the club think we have enough to win the league.

The money is being used for either

    1. Impending liability (court cases)
    2. Significant sale of shares from a major shareholder
    3. Or we just don't want to spend and are actively sabotaging the manager.

    For me it's point 1.

Hopefully the interims are announced in 2 weeks the club come out and say here is why we didn't spend. The line from the report and AGM about worrying about not having a year of UCL doesn't wash

If it was point 1, the club could state the projected expenses of legal proceedings as a defense from attacks regarding the non -investment in the team. It'd be a no-brainer to justify their policy with such an explanation.

I agree, it's the elephant in the room. Its guaranteed to be point 1. There really isn't any other rational explanation

While the club could be, and likely will be keeping a pot for this, I can't imagine it would be even half of the supposed £70m we have. I could understand why the club would keep some for that. With any court case pending, I think number 2 is unlikely as I don't think anybody would want to be the largest shareholder and have their name tarnished by this. I think it's pure arrogance and incompetency.

For point 1, since the we have shareholders. Would the club not need to communicate this towards the shareholders if the money was saved for that. Not an expert by far, but I would think that a huge projected expense like that needs to be communicated at an agm. Like projected refurbishments, buildings new training centres etc. Cause a shareholder has a right to know about this.

You know the board are scrambling about last minute trying to get a left back in, when they could have resolved the situation about 6 months ago. We were always a Taylor injury away from this disaster.

The idea that shares are going to be sold has merit, given the fact how uninvolved DD is in the running of the club. Perhaps he realized Celtic are never entering English football and has completely lost interest.

There are two separate issues that are often conflated and confused.

The first is the amount we spend. The second is how we spend.

Maybe there is a reason such as the legal settlement that is somewhat limiting how much we spend.

But we spent plenty of money in the summer. The problem is barely any of those players are good enough or ready to improve our team. Three of them are being shipped out on loan less than 6 months later.

It’s a strategy and/or competence problem in the first instance. After that we can discuss the overall spend amount.

I think the glaring problem is an absence of strategy rather than a poor one.
