This is good although I fully understand why the Club haven't automatically done this previously.

Hopefully some kind of closure can be reached for those affected.

This will also, hopefully anyway, see an end to those constantly talking about the size of the cash reserve the Club has.. although you'd have thought they could have worked out why this was for themselves before now tbh.

Good, I'm glad the current board are taking action to address the horrific abuse that happened back then. Hope each and every victim comes forward if they can and gets some form of compensation and closure from this.

I don't agree with all the separate entity stuff that we've tried to use get out of any responsibility.

Huns can go * themselves rejoicing in this though.

Long overdue, hopefully a correct and fair pay out and save the victims having to go through the trauma in court

The correct way forward. I hope the victims can find some sort of closure and the support they need.

Was definitely handled poorly but it must've been a legal minefield for the clubs lawyers and a PR nightmare trying to release statements without jeopardising their position.

Thankfully the club finally look to be doing the right thing by the victims.

I think it will be surprisingly little for what has happened, which only makes it more mental we never "owned it" before and sorted something out.

I'm not a legal expert but if we admitted full responsibility earlier it may have opened us up for lots of separate individual claims, instead of one class action..

Still, think we should have done better by the victims, the separate entity argument never really sat well..

I'm pretty sure I read a year or so back the compensation wouldn't be anything higher than £12 million.

Which isn't pennies, but it's not exactly like we've struggled for money over the last few years.

Nor I, I think you are probably right there and maybe it's had to be played out this way. Was really hard to witness the seperate entitiy argument.

The separate legal entity would have been from advice of legal professionals, high end ones too. There definitely would have been a reason for it. It doesn't mean the club is innocent but I understand why the club did it. If they didn't I think it could have been the end of the club.

I doubt we will ever know what the settlement will be, it will likely be a case by case basis. I don't think the victims will get closure though. It was ignored for so long, sentences were fairly light I'm sure.

Glad the club is looking to give some closure to the victims of previous employees

I don’t think the victims will accept the money without the club taking some sort of responsibility and apologising which I think is the least we should be doing.

We should be setting up or putting money towards victim causes for ongoing support every year and more.

This is long overdue. Hopefully those abused and the families affected can find some closure..

It's been very poorly handled for me. Some of these rats that are still alive or covered it up should be hung..

Just guesswork from me but I don't think it'll be anything near that. If it is then it is..

I think it's obvious the club thought, or indeed think, on the advice of lawyers obviously, that the case was one which they could've won.

However, the public fallout and negative reaction would've been far too much, and thus , with the coffers swelling, they've decided to settle.

Great news for all involved. The victims don't need to relive the trauma of this in public, they will get a settlement to start rebuilding their lives, and club can draw a line under this shameful chapter of our history.

Very encouraging statement from the solicitors also.

This case has been a textbook example of how not to handle a case of this gravity and magnitude. It should have been handled then and there decades ago or at least within the right time so the people turning the blind eye to what happened could be held responsible. Now it's too late for real justice.

Hopefully the club can help the victims find some kind of peace going forward, if that's even possible.
