I don't doubt he's good. I think he's top class, but he's still young and hasn't had a full season yet that's all. I think he'll be the next one to go for big money after VVD.

You could see it in Wanyama, Hooper etc that straight away they are top class players. Bitton is a very unique player, he will go for big money but hopefully not for a good 3 years.

Believe the team would be in the top 6 after a season! The money that the club would generate globally along with sponsorships would be bigger than any club there the now! Top players would choose our great club. We are the celtic!

Late bump, but worth mentioning in current climate. The added revenue would obviously help but you'd be expected to pay more for talent. Sterling in Spain = 25 Million, in the PL he's 45-50 M. That money would go fast-ish.

We are nowhere near top 6 with this current squad.

We'd have it hard in the Championship but as BrianSwan says, the added revenue would have us in a totally different transfer policy, less restrictions and wider choice, that and including the fact we'd be in a more attractive competition.

my mate and i have a recurring discussion on how celtic would fare in the EPL and how his team would fare in the SPL

essentially, it always comes down to him claiming that spurs would walk the SPL year in year out and that celtic would struggle in the EPL.

if you were to put both teams in those leagues, then with current squads yes he's probably right.

but to think that spurs would continue to dominate after 3/4 or 5 years living off the pennies they would be getting from SPL revenue or to think that celtic couldnt thrive after 3/4 or 5 years of EPL riches....thats just naive

A shameless bump when the club is this low down, but how we perform in Europe doesn't tell us much about how we would hypothetically perform in the EPL.

As bad as we've been, we've also seen west Ham go out against a far weaker side, Southampton (despite the tens of millions they've spent) look like they might not even make it to the Europa League, even Man Utd may struggle against a pretty average Club Brugge side. Puts things in bit of persepctive.
