It wasn't Stephen Kenny that said that but was Roddy Collins, McCourt's former boss at Shamrock Rovers. At the time McCourt disassociated himself from the comment and was very embarrassed by it.

McCourt can't be held accountable for the comments of someone else...you've got to be fair.

I'm not quite sure why you would have such faith in a Malpas' ability to spot a talented player.

...but nevertheless there has been many a player been rejected at trials. Lee Bowyer famously rejected by Arsenal and signed for Charlton only to set a transfer record when he moved to Leeds.

If i remember correctly Stephen Hunt was rejected by Dundee Utd at trials. Not a bad player.

    Need i go on.

You also forget to mention that Man City offered £1.5M for McCourt whilst at Rochdale (who turned it down). What happened to McCourt after that is up for debate but only the man himself will know. Maybe he can find that same form again. But seems most on here aren't prepared to give him the chance, but hopefully WGS does.

At most places, people are defined by what players they really like... but here each person is defined by what player they dislike for strange reasons and hope fails. The only constant lately is that everyone loves Caddis. :56:
Anyway, WGS (and the entire organization in general) doesn't operate like that... so no worries. Everyone will have their day on the pitch to show what they can do. Even Riordan.

I think Henrik was a late bloomer also. I think he played in Swedish lower leagues until a move at age of 21 to Helsingborg (not sure of spelling).

I don't know how many of you get the chance to watch the Czech league. I see quite a lot of it (that is when I don't fall asleep during the games) and I have never heard of these two, until now. That doesn't mean that they aren't any cop but let me put it this way- it would be hard NOT to look like a wonder kid playing for a team lying 12 in a 16 team league if you have some semblance of ability. The Gambrinus Czech league at the moment is, at the very most, average.

These are just my thoughts and obviously I would hope things work out and that we have unearthed wonder kids. I just feel that there are other more obvious players Celtic could be looking at from the Czech Rep.

I never heard about these two, but for Celtic reserves they should be good. I don´t think they are bad players, but like czeltikbhoy sayd the level of league in which they are competing isn´t very high. If they develope in good players, I´ll be happy Czech. Everything can happen.
Players Celtic should target were Svěrkoš(now in France),Necid(Russia) or Kadlec ( now playing in Germany), but is is too late.

Referring to up & coming footballers as 'wonderkids' always confuses me. Are they the spawn of Wonderwoman, preparing to take on the next supervillain with their special bullet deflecting bibs or are they footballers who are displaying some potential in early career? I apologise for this, it is a Friday & also near christmas :celt_2:
