Fantastic news, very pleased that the section is being renewed for next season. The next step they need to take now is expanding it, although I suppose that can wait for a while.

Statement on Section 111 at Celtic Park

By: Newsroom Staff on 18 May, 2011 13:17
AS our supporters will be aware, the Glasgow City Council Safety Team for Sports Grounds during the course of the season has expressed their concerns on a number of safety issues within Section 111. Regrettably, this has resulted in a delay of offering season membership renewals to supporters occupying this area of the stadium.

Celtic is pleased to announce that is has received confirmation from the Safety Team that the issuing of season books for this section can now be made on the basis that all season book holders within this section refrain from any lateral movement.

Clearly, the Club has worked hard to ensure that we can maintain this section and we are pleased that the Safety Team has not sought to impose any capacity reduction at this stage.

The Club was closely involved in the formation of this section and fully recognises the positive support for the team that has been shown from this area. We look forward to next season and thank supporters in this section for their continued backing.

Letter to Season Membership Holders in Section 111
Season Membership Renewal 2011/2012 – Section 111
As you will be aware, the Glasgow City Council Safety Team for Sports Grounds during the course of the season has expressed their concerns on a number of safety issues within Section 111. Regrettably, this has resulted in a delay of offering season membership renewals to supporters occupying this area of the stadium.

During the latter part of the season, there has been progress made in reducing the problem of overcrowding and congestion by persons from other parts of the ground migrating to Section 111. This has been achieved by improved cooperation between supporters in this section and safety stewards. In addition, the Club recognises the positive support for the team that has been shown from this area.

The most significant safety concern remaining is that of lateral movement by supporters. Following a meeting of the Safety Team, agreement has been reached with the Club that the seating capacity in Section 111 may be maintained without reduction provided that supporters no longer participate in lateral movement and we ask your co-operation to resolve this problem.

Accordingly, your season membership renewal is offered to you on the condition that you do not participate in lateral movement during matches. It has been made clear to the Club that failure to comply with this condition will result in the need for spectator capacity in Section 111 to be reduced and could place your season membership at risk. This will form part of the renewal of the Stadium General Safety Certificate for the season 2011/2012.

We urge you to comply with this condition and continue your positive support of the team.

Lawwel said theyre going to expand it but that was obviously a lie.
I hate these safety killjoys.
