The GB brought colour, atmosphere and noise to the stadium, as well as some breathtaking banners and displays. They will be sorely missed but maybe this is the kick up the * they need to start keeping to the rules eg lateral movement and fireworks etc. I'm not saying that what they are doing is wrong or dangerous, but it is Celtic's rules and those rules must be followed or Celtic have the right to kick you out of their stadium. I hope to see the GB back as soon as possible bringing the same noise and colour to the stadium but are able to do so in a manner that is deemed 'safe' by Celtic.

The irony of all this is 'Let The People Sing' will be played over the Celtic Park speakers at the next home match.

He's not "desperate to have a go" at the green brigade and he doesn't hate them. He's * off he got perma-banned instantly for what I would consider a minor offence. A temporary ban would have done the trick. He signed up to voice his football opinion and I doubt he'll mention the green brigade again. Please refrain from pointlessly insulting him further as its starting to annoy me.

    I'm not picky.
I don't think there are any winners if the Green Brigade is disbanded because the split in the fans would be huge so inevitably the board loses out as well. Also the atmosphere that the Green Brigade creates is amazing as well which if stopped could cause animosity because the displays and atmosphere is so well loved. No atmosphere will result in less crowds which will result in less money. Lose lose situation for everyone.

Reading the statement, it seems that the board have been getting grief from the various Health & Safety organisations and if that's the case the board has no option but to do something about it. They can't just keep issuing warnings, and nothing getting done about said warnings because the club will inevitably be punished again and again which obviously isn't right. I mean if the Club needs different certificates from various aspects of H&S and worse came to the worst and the certificates were revoked then would that not have a knock on effect from competitions as in not being able to partake in them? Like if you need them to play in UEFA competitions for instance? (genuine questions by the way as I don't know :icon_mrgreen:)

I just hope something can be sorted because I enjoy seeing the Green Brigade there and the atmosphere that they create is amazing but at the same time, no matter what people think of modern football these days, there are rules and regulations that are made by H&S companies that the Club has to abide by.

Really hope that something can be worked out by the Green Brigade and the Club.

I find all this UEFA stuff nonsense, questions need to be asked why Celtic is being singled out if it is in fact them pursuing this. Or is everybody going to ignore how ultra group act across Europe, The GB are timid at best compared to other teams ultras. just last year I was watching a Liverpool game were the opposing team let of smoke bombs and you couldn't see the park for them, were was UEFA sanctions then? I could list 100's of examples all within the last two seasons outside Celtic.

Based on the fact no other club in Europe is facing such sanctions for doing worse things on a more regular basis than the GB alone proves to me it is the Board who are pursuing this and hiding behind UEFA.

Up till 3 am making their banner for last Saturday fans sang their hearts out the whole game, including when we were 1-0 down. supporting their team and they get this sort of thanks from the temporary custodians who inhabit Celtic just now.

    * scandal.

Take them away and its gonna be a grave yard atmosphere, thought they said they were trying to improve the match day experience? this is how they are going about it?

Something is not right in the Celtic board room, im not sure who or what it is, but its there. Its there and its a cancer on OUR club.

what is their end game here? diluting our support and making us all into soulless customers who spend their money and just sit clapping politely when we score?

ill be attending away games from now on standing and singing. supporting the club my own way, rather than being dictated to by some suit who sees us all as walking pound signs.

    Until the last rebel

Probably because you have no reply on the part of their collusion,it is unforgivable to go against your own fans who have done nothing wrong, this is nothing more than a vendetta against a group of fellow supporters that Lawwell and his lap dog Hawthorn see as a threat to their reputation, but il be sure and tell my teacher you put me right on my views :50:

Some people can't get it into their thick skulls that the Green Brigade broke the rules and have now faced the consequences, there is no agenda from Celtic. If you break rules, you face consequences, it's a fact of life.

As I pointed out in the other thread, Rosa Parks (to take just one example) broke the rules. The point is whether those rules are sensible (or in Parks' case just). Sweeping sttements like the bit I put in bold just brush this very important point under the carpet.

Oh my. The lateral movement epidemic is spreading. Spare a thought for all the injured souls partaking in such an unsafe act. Make sure your shoe laces are tied too. Don't want you to trip and fall. So unsafe

    * me, now we're comparing the Green Brigade to Rosa Parks, that is absolutely laughable. Just because you don't agree with the rules doesn't give you the right to break them, and in any case, Celtic don't make the rules either.

Now I was very careful to avoid saying that. No, I do not see the GB (much though I like them) as being in the same bracket as Rosa Parks. Read my post again.

This is my point. Don't you see that statements like this and the one in your previous post could also have been used as a stick to beat heroes like Rosa Parks with? Doesn't that fact cast doubt on the rather simplistic moral absolutism that lies behind such statements?

I've been making that point to everyone ive spoke to about this today, the rules are imposed upon Celtic, there are safety standards we have to follow so no lateral movement or Pyro etc. and there are laws that we need to follow which outlaw certain songs or whatever it may be. Don't hurt the club they don't make the laws, and from what i can see they have tried to have dialogue with supporter groups to come to an agreement but to no avail. Fans turning on other fans is a shame to see, this shouldn't be a if your with us your against us type of thing, we are all Celtic fans.

Well, I'm not anti-Lawwell anyway. I know he is just doing the job he is paid for and doing it well; but regardless of where this is coming from (be it Glasgow City Council, the board, Holyrood, Westminster or Uefa) we need to defend the GB. The cost of damaged seats is surely more than compensated by the money the club make from their displays etc and the only rule they have broken is the stupid one about lateral movement.

UEFA have strict rules, as do the SPFL/SPL/SFA, so we HAVE to adhere to them. If we(the fans) break them, then the club breaks them....we are directly and wholly responsible for our club. The club gets a small fine, which you may think is alright since these fines are only a few thousand, but its not just the fine, it also damages our reputation and brand and also as these fines mount up and spiral out of control we may get even heavier sanctions such as being forced to play at neutral venues or even at worse get disqualified altogether. I think its only right that Celtic make a point and try to control all this before it gets any worse or out of control.

Also the guy that said "The cost of damaged seats is surely more than compensated by the money the club make from their displays etc" is an idiot! You pay for a ticket to watch Celtic, I am pretty sure there is no smallprint that also entitles you to destroy the seat :87:
