Hearing club say final warning issued rather than section being closed.

Not sure how accurate the info.

The reaction on here has shown how big an issue it would be amongst fans and the club cannot afford to be disruptive now or at any point with the fanbase.

:50: not to mention the seats that people in section 111 broke.

If this is a final warning then I have no problem.

I'm in two minds about this. On the one hand, I appreciate the Green Brigade and all they do to make Celtic Park one of the best places in football when it comes to atmosphere. I know that they invest a lot of their own time and money to make the games enjoyable for us fans.
It's confusing. I don't really know much about this "Lateral movement", if someone could explain it to me that would be appreciated.
However, if it is what I think it is (moving side to side like those eastern European ultras), the club have asked them to stop it, why continue to do it? It doesn't add anything to the overall atmosphere.

So what's going to happen to the punters in the section... remember the group's not disbanded, they'll still be there in whatever form they can, but I don't get how they're going to close the section? Is it just going to be empty? If so, where are the season ticket holders from that section going to go? Doesn't make sense to me. It's been coming though, it was announced well before the start of the new season that the club were taking away ticketing powers from the GB (as in, people could no longer relocate to 111 through the group).
I'm not altogether convinced that the place will be dead after this though, I certainly think next game will produce a pretty strong atmosphere, a la Dundee UTD last season. Part of the problem with atmosphere these days is that, by and large, it's just the GB creating it, and as such everyone just leaves it up to them. I don't remember it being all that terrible pre-GB, it was only when the quality of football got so * in the late Strachan/Mowbray years that the atmosphere went really downhill.

very unfair that an entire supporters club is being punished for a small few doing things they shouldn't. they create cracking atmosphere by leading all the singing and of course the amazing banners but this must be a reaction to the fireworks at the elfsborg game which were not needed.

I have always been against any form of boycotting but now is the time to do this. If i lived in Scotland, i would definatelly boycot this AWFUL decision.

It's the only thing they can do. There's no way they can single out the few that are doing things they shouldn't. The group were starting to take liberties.

This is all very strange. The GB must have had some confirmation from the club for them to release that statement.

Now the club may be saying it's a last warning?

Call me cynical but I could see the GB saying "* it" anyway and staying away, therefore the group gets disbanded and the board don't look like the bad guys...

Maybe I'm reading too much into it but it's all very strange.

Suggestion seems to be the Green Brigade have jumped the gun. Or else someone’s changed their tune from this morning.

    Chris McLaughlin ‏@BBCchrismclaug
#Celtic close section of their ground for safety reasons. Club say fans have ignored warnings about lateral movement in section 111

    Chris McLaughlin ‏@BBCchrismclaug
Fans in the section which houses The Green Brigade will now be offered a refund or chance to relocate. #Celtic.

Either way now that media sources have picked up on this, Celtic have to make/must a statement to clarify the position.

But it has been said countless times that doing The Huddle is not lateral movement.
