Yes...* John Knox! Not because he was a Protestant or part of the reformation...but because he was against the practicing of Catholic faith and was involved in admonishing those who participated in it....

What's wrong with saying it's good to be a Catholic:97:

I never said it made you any less of a Republican ...because i neither know nor care what kind of Republican you are!

Sing alot of the Rebels, but cannot stand RITG. No room for triumphalism in Celtic Park, and reminds me of a dark period in our supporters history particularly late 80's.

Yes thats right. But he's put up there as a conner stone-a foundation of that part of christiany (like it or not) just like the pope is in the r.c. church. I personly dont like the man, i just think it doesnt do us justice singing that about him. Just the way the huns sing about the pope.
It sort of takes us down the road the huns are on. And * them.

Fair point....but i strongly disagree with the last part of your post.....

Ther can be absolutely NO similarities made between the songs that we sing and the vile chants which come from there terraces.....even though the biased Scottish media would like us to think that both sides are as bad as each other...

The majority of their songs are about the glorification of murdering a certain sect of people based on their religion or sporting support, false accusations of peadophilia and ethnic cleansing........What songs (even at their worst) can compare to these?

Aye but let's be honest here, the huns sing about there being no Pope of Rome etc etc for one reason and one reason only - they hate absolutely everything associated with Roman Catholicism.

Lets be honest here. They sing it, they target certain groups but in reality they have'nt a * clue why? Its that blind neanderthal hatred without a brain cell bunch.

If they had two brain cells they'd be twice as stupid type.

The only thing in our songsheet which I'm not too keen on hearing is the add on, the very very rare add on, "soon they'll be no Protestants at all".

You'd be chased for your life with this RITG lark in any Republican circles in Ireland.
Don't believe me, then try singing it in the Felons Club in Belfast.
ffs, learn some politics before you embarrass yourselves any further on here.

No matter what you say some of those men would have been responsible or had a hand in the sectarian murders that occurred in the 70's carried out by Republicans so they would hardly be the best * authority on whats sectarian and whats not.
