It's all going to end badly if the police keep this kind of treatment up. Sadly I'm pretty sure they know what they're doing.

I would like to hear from the club after the incident today. They have stated that they will listen to any complaint made by our fans and now they have to live up to that. If they are against the Green Brigade then so be it, but they must let the Celtic support know where they stand on this issue.

why is there is a victim mentality driving this issue. The GB fans organised a march, they didnt have permission to do so. maybe they applied and it was rejected, i dont know.

They unwisely decided to march without permission, and as a result the police reacted at considerable cost to the tax payer to disperse the fans marching.

so by not following guidelines or playing by the rules, they have wasted police time and cost the taxpayer on all the staffing costs.

if they want to challenge the bill, could they not be a little bit more savvy? online petitions, lobbying SMP's, building consensus with other fan groups, building fan and police discussion groups to tackle the issues and have their voice and concerns heard?

Celtic have a duty to respond to this, after all its their paying fans getting attacked and abused or ending up with a criminal record just for being a fan.dreadful treatment.

Isn't it good to live in a democratic country where you are free to express your opinion.

Police harassment of the Green Brigade has been on going for some time now. The Police have been wasting tax payers money for months on end not the Green Brigade.

    I'm not picky.
The way the the police have surrounded the fans there is a joke and they are basically doing all they can to invite trouble. They are using it as an excuse to get a reaction just so they can turn round and say something like "See? We knew it would kick off and this is why we did what we did"

The only people causing trouble today were the police.

Since when is non-justified harassment - especially like this - towards fans of the club not a club issue? I'll be very disappointed if the club are to just sit back and think "Ah well, * happens".

This complete & utter disgrace, mate -

    <iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/qzeLbIz7jOE?feature=player_detailpage" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="360" width="640"></iframe>

Fixed that for you regarding the police reaction.

Maybe the planned march wasn't given permission, maybe it was. Who knows. But even if it wasn't given permission there is no way that nigh on 15 - 20 police wagons, 200 cops, a police helicopter and mounted police were justified for only about 200 fans. *' riots have had less of a police presence than the incident today.

To be honest, the police, with their complete over-reaction to this, has actually played into the hands of the GB because it just goes to show that it is purely victimisation from the cops and this is just more evidence of that.

Anyone who can defend the police on this has their head firmly up their *.

The video and photos are genuinely shocking!

Something is badly not right here! There just has to be for that mass overkill of Polis and misuse of their powers against what when it comes down to it is just a bunch of football fans about to march together to a ground as a group, something that happens every weekend up and down the country, so why are the GB being treated different?

We had recent hun marches to Hampden last season and others from memory so why is that ok? Surely there was more appetite for "bother" on those protests than what was planned today?

I have no idea if the Union Bears get similar treatment and scrutiny from the Polis, if not then clearly there is an agenda against the GB.

The club should start off by backing them with a statement, they are owed at least that due to their previous efforts in improving atmosphere.

The fans also need to back them against Hibs in some way, I am currently in England but will come up especially on April 6th if I knew support was planned and hope others that live closer would do the same.

    Enough is Enough!

Not a fan of the green brigade at all, some of the things they do are an embarrassment. However, even if the club came out and said that they are sympathetic to the GB in this situation, what could be done? They can't make the police stop doing what they are doing can they?

No one is suggesting they can but to say nothing and ignore this issue would be a bigger crime by the club in my view!

With the worst kept secret coming up about our ficticious crowds this season being revealed today the club now more than ever they have to back their fans and get the support on their side or we might as well be ground sharing with Partick soon for our home SPL games!

There's a victim mentality driving the issue because they really can't win here since the police can act with impunity. It's why we need the club to do something. In the eyes of the wider world most people trust the institution of the police but most people don't trust the Green Brigade, regardless of the actual facts of the situation.

Playing devil's advocate here but if the protest was about police treatment in the first place, surely applying for permission to the police to say "here, today we're going to protest about your treatment of us, do you mind?" would just have invited even more of this behaviour from them, as then they'd have put an even heavier presence in place and used dirtier tactics.

Anybody who was in Madrid last season when we played Atletico will remember the spanish polis boxing us in like this after the game.

They had the batons drawn and were desperate for it to kick off so they could give our fans a goin over.

I knew the spanish polis had a bad reputation before I travelled but thought we would be ok. If we ever draw them or Real Madrid again I cant see me goin back.

If Green Brigade get this sort of * every other week a lot of them will be asking themselves is it really worth the hassle. Especially when our own club is doing * all to help them.

What was the silence about today? I know what happened at the gallowgte but the team didn't cause that and needed support today. I'm fed up with everyone waiting on the gb starting everything too. Start a song , see what happens . Sometimes folk join in. What happens if the gb call it a day? Not trying to be disrespectful but there was a Celtic support before the gb and I hope to * they have'nt been replaced by silent spectators.
