I struggle to see how there can ever be ‘correctly and safely’ with these things at a football match… even more so considering the antics of the guys who use them regularly.

Bottom line is … it is costing the club ££££ and is going to cost the fans soon..

It has to stop and if certain fans can’t forego their coloured smoke fix for the good of the club then they don’t deserve to be there.

For me…. the pyro spectacle before being pumped 7-1 is just embarrassing anyway.

We've managed to do pyro safe and legal in Norway, so why can't it be done in Scotland?

The pyro should only be lit up only by people not under the influence. It can only be lit up in designated areas of the stand, with immidiate access to big buckets of sand to drop used pyro. There should always be a fire extinguisher close by. People standing in these designated areas knows the risk and can't claim damages for ruined clothing etc.

It takes heavy self policing to make it work, but so far it has worked over here.

    Bortom line for me, and it’s not complicated;

I get that some think pyro is great. Problem is, it’s not allowed, but there is zero accountability towards the people involved.

As long as ”someone else” keeps picking up the tab (fines, stand closures etc), things won’t change any time soon.

Are you for real??? I mean, seriously. Take a step back, forget about the complete nonsense about it creating a better atmosphere, it is not correct. We could hurt someone and scar them for life. Can you imagine setting one of those off and hurt one of our own????

Pyro is brilliant, but can't risk getting fans banned, that'd be unforgivable.

Keep to outside the ground in Europe & keep up the good work with flags & displays.

I think Pyro looks amazing in the stadiums but I do think it can be a bit of a risk, wouldn't like to be near it but enjoy seeing it. Safe pyro exists and should be used and allowed

The problem is that AFAIK exactly none of UEFA, our board and the fans using pyro have shown any signs of being interested in sensible compromises like that, because our board and the fans concerned seem to both be utterly convinced that they are 100% in the right and in UEFA's case, I'm not personally convinced that they are a good-faith actor or that they have any interest in anything except their own money and power (just my opinion).

I've got a couple of genuine questions if you don't mind..

Does pyro in Norway come from the ultra group fashion that we have in Scotland or is it done more in conjuction with the clubs and governing bodies?

Because the type of people who are most attracted to flares and fireworks in this country are probably not the most health and safety conscious and probably are under the influence of something or other. And I sense half the fun for them is playing rebel and doing things they aren't allowed to do.

Also, do Norwegian fans just stop the pyro stuff in Europe or do the clubs have the same problem and have to pay fines, etc?

The GB etc have been the only groups in Britain that have matched up to what is extremely common in continental Europe & North Africa etc.

We're an outlier in that sense on the ultra scene wise.

TBH I think they are leading the way, its a blueprint.

Yeah I agree. I was a steward at Millwall for a bit... nothing gets in and if it does, the cameras are all over it and security is on you like a flash... they're across the entire fan base by camera from start to end because they have to be.

I'd genuinely like to know exactly what they mean by Nicholson having a problem with this individual's "relationship with Palestine". I can't possibly form an opinion on this situation from such a vague statement. What kind of relationship are they talking about? Details matter a lot with this kind of thing.
