Clapped Modric off as well to be honest. He was class.

Nothing wrong with appreciating a legend of the game, especially when departing the pitch. Not as if you’re cheering him on :56:

Also, anyone I’ve seen being given applause when they get subbed, they conduct themselves brilliantly on the pitch.

Kaka, Iniesta, Modric, that’s the only ones I can remember.

The fact the game was gone I think played a big part in Modric getting clapped off. Benzema got booed off at 0-0 for example.

I applauded when Modric left the field, he is a class act, nothing wrong with appreciating a top player but its just as much to do with their conduct on the pitch, you wouldn't see us clap neymar off the field regardless of how good he is as he is a *

I think it shows our class when we appreciate a world class player leaving the park.

I'm guessing UEFA gonna get all bitchy now and give the club a fine because of the display?

Would I * clap anyone off the park that isn't a Celtic player.

Ridiculous the amount of folk in the stadium that clapped Benzema off, and then Modric - they're the opposition ffs!

Wish the morons that are throwing bottles and coins at the corner flag would just not bother showing up. I speak for 99% of the fans in saying you aren't welcome.

Don’t really see an issue with Modric and Benzema getting applauded off, I never clapped or booed but they are 2 world class players who we’ll likely not see at Celtic park again so I understand it.

Don’t get why some are getting caught up about it.

In what way is it a nonsense comment? Its a handful of idiots in a stadium of 60,000 people, and they drag the entire support down with them. Its Neanderthal behaviour.

It's a nonsense comment because who they * are you, I, or anyone else to say folk "aren't welcome"?

So when the club officially condemn it (and they have plenty times), your response will be the same to them?

What a strange take to have on that issue.

I'll only applaud when I feel I have watched a masterclass or I'm seeing someone who has given me so much joy as a football fan. I applauded Iniesta and I applauded Arjen Robben. Last night, I applauded both Benzema and Modric. Benzema because of who he is, what he's done and the fact I got to see him live, at Celtic Park was something I can tell my kids about. Modric, for the same reasons but also his performance last night. Absolute masterclass from one of the finest midfielders the world has ever seen.

There is a difference between piping up an opponent on the Celtic way like we did with Barcelona and appreciating the players on the pitch when they get subbed. Some are to be admired and if people would rather come across as pure bitter, fair * to them. They witnessed some incredible talent last night, why not appreciate it?

    Yes.

There's a difference between condemning their actions and saying "you're not welcome here".
