The worrying aspect of the added sectarian bit is that it will give the SMSM the opportunity to tar us with the same brush as the huns - two sides of the same * type of thing. We don't want to be associated with that mob in any way whatsoever so it's best cutting that stuff out. It's also worth remembering that our club has always been open to anyone and that our most famous manager, as well as some of our best players, were protestants

    I agree.

But even if it avoided media coverage it'd still be unacceptable.

Shouting "no Protestants at all" tarnishes what is a very good song. It doesn't need that *.

I find that line as offensive, out of place and ridiculous as shouting something like up the UVF during the Sam Song.

It's so * embarrassing that wee add on, considering the context of the song. North men, South men, comrades all....then the very next line is 'soon there'll be no protestants at all'? * me it takes a special kind of stupid to blindly join in that chant. * idiots.

Lost count the number of times I've been asked to play roamin in the gloamin at gigs, always reply with nah I'm no religious mate. There are some absolute weapons kicking about calling themselves Celtic fans with no clue what that even means.

    Well said @McGrory1888

I'd agree if the complaints were about the rebs but there's nothing "panty wetting" about not wanting backward sectarian * shoehorned into a perfectly good republican song.

Apart from that nonsense add-on, the songbook was excellent last night.

The anti-Protestant pish is cringeworthy, immature nonsense.

If you had respect for Celtic you would know the huge part that Jock Stein, Bertie Auld, Bertie Peacock etc. etc. have played in our history.

If you had respect for Irish Republicanism you would know the huge part that Theo Wolfetone, Constance Markievicz, Roger Casement, Sam Maguire, Ronnie Bunting etc. etc. had played in the struggle.

Leave the bigotry to the bigots please. It has no association with Celtic or the Irish Republican struggle.

No place for sectarianism anywhere , but especially at a Celtic game . Totally cringeworthy stuff in the last couple of matches being sung . I hope that it stops immediately .

    What a mess :56:

If 97 is your year of birth I’m * embarrassed for you.

A huge amount of Protestants support us and have played a massive part in our history.

It’s a cringeworthy add on and completely contradictory to the song it’s on.

Is that what was getting sung. As long as I can remember we've always sung 'soon there'll be no * Huns at all'

Even if that we're the case, why can't it just be the original... Dublin, Belfast, Cork and Donegal.

It's ruining a perfectly good song. A song which is about the liberation of all of Ireland from British imperialism.

Any videos or that of these chants? I don't doubt anyone saying they've heard them just usually evidence would have surfaced and the SMSM would be all over it.

The religious pish creeping back into the support is a * mess and anyone defending it needs to take a long hard look at themselves. I never raised my kids to tolerate that * and it would break my heart to see them trying to justify that nonsense, no matter how much they hated me.

Have you missed the majority of our away games this season?

Not trying to be a funny * but it’s not been hard to miss.

Most fans on here are appalled when the manky mob start their * in the stands and rightly so. So singing that * bile at games is just as repulsive. The Bhoys or whatever their called are completely tarnishing the work the fans have year after year. Aye, they're trying to make their mark, but they're going well the wrong way about it. Aye tgb were a bit rough and ragged to start with but grew up fast and now well respected with many of the fans. These guys see themselves as an ultra/singing section where they come across more like a firm/young team. And The Bhoys? That's Celtics nickname get original.
