With all due respect, it's none of your concern, nor mine for that matter! You've got no right to be criticising folk for not singing - like I say, it's not an obligation from these guys to create atmosphere.

If they choose to sit/stand and watch the match in the same manner as the majority of the other fans in the ground, then that's their prerogative.

There’s boys who have faced years of * for supporting the club they love because they’ve sang songs.

    That’s the bigger picture here.

Who cares if the players feel nervous because there’s no atmosphere

    Correct. It's * horrible.

But hey, if the board remain silent, then I'm all for these guys remaining silent also.

Ahhhh, trying to take the moral high ground whilst trying to make thinly-veiled jabs at a person's mental health.

    Ain't you just a swell guy :50:

    Correct.

Folk have been jailed, dragged out of their houses, lost jobs, been dragged up to court, battered, harrassed, victimised, antagonised - anything that the police can do to guys like these lot who are now being criticised for the same thing they're refusing to do right now.

But all folk are caring about is atmosphere?

Must be great supporting Celtic from behind a screen...

I’m going to take a stab in the dark here and go with: the players, the coaching staff, and the vast majority of our supporters.

Don't even know where to start lad, so I'll leave you to it with your jackanory stories conducting in your head. Better get back to playing the victim card in your wee passive aggressive tone you've got going on.

It is absolutely their perogative and all fan groups have encouraged every fan to follow suit..

My argument as tactic, its one that is potentially damaging to the team...

Like I say the atmosphere the GB especially create is amazing and I really do love them but I just don't see this tactic as working at all..

Yeah, I've been getting that impression from everyone of your creepy posts.

Just you stick to leaving the supporting of Celtic to actual supporters, lad :50:

If other fans are that bothered they can start a song or 2.

If the GB/Bhoys or anyone else effected want to stay silent they can.

Encouraged, not told. It's an optional protest.

I absolutely agree, the atmosphere these guys bring is fantastic, but that is the whole point.

    Correct.

The likelyhood is that a fair amount of folk criticising these guys will be the first to say that the GB don't speak for them.

Yet, eh, they better sing for them...

I agree with you and don’t consider the silent protest as the best way BUT, they can choose to protest in an acceptable manner within the law. TBH I’d prefer if they sung 90 minutes non stop with the Rebel songs etc like we have been doing away. Then the board would have to act.

The very fact that we're all in here... Debating the protest, and not issue of the protest, is testament to the fact that this is not working

It's causing divisions within the fanbase, fracturing the wider support, (like it or not) giving opposition sides a more comfortable game at our ground and most importantly, detracting from the issue itself.

    HIGGINS.

Again, the GB are a small minority in a stadium of 60,000.

There is absolutely nothing preventing other supporters - the overwhelming majority of the stadium as it happens - from singing or trying to create an atmosphere.

Genuine question, what else can they do? Please no "anything else" cop-out, just one actually practical suggestion. You must be aware that this is quite literally the last resort active fans groups would take, given that singing over 90 minutes to support the team is their reason for being.

Emails, banners, rallies outside the ground, social media campaigns, even national press coverage - nothing has been enough to even bring the board to the table. So what exactly is left for them to do but withdraw their only asset: their voices?

The vast MAJORITY of fans of this club seem to be incapable of singing a single song over 90 minutes of football - perversely unless it's chanting against the silent protest as today showed. Of all the people you can call entitled, you pick the ones who had their lives wrecked by the man now up for a prominent job with Celtic? Careers, families, LIVES ruined, yet staying silent at a football match is intolerable?
