To the ones who don't think that the GB produced the Banner.

Here is what Mac bhoy on kerrydale street has not long posted:
    http://kerrydalestreet.co.uk/topic/8618492/125/

"As far as I'm aware I'm the only GB member commenting on this thread. The banner was not the work of one person. Perhaps now in hindsight the banner wasn't the wisest of moves - not because of the sentiment expressed but because it really isn't worth this sorry and totally over-the-top drama which has unfolded. The banner was not articulate nor cute, it wasn't designed to be as its not always possible to go down this route - especially when your time is taking up with other projects at the moment. (On a side note I don't remember there being such mock outrage when we produced a 'F*ck Bill Leckie' and 'F*ck the Daily Ranger' banner). I stand by the sentiment of the banner and the right to express that opinion. Regardless of even our recent bullshampoo charge from UEFA - they are a corrupt, self-serving organisation - anyone with an ounce of football knowledge would know what they are like. I would bet my Christmas wage that the banner wouldn't even have registered with UEFA had it not been for the fuss kicked up the gutter press here, still I sincerely doubt there will be any comeback over the banner. I can assure you that its certainly not the first nor will it be the last banner fans produce to taunt UEFA - it happens on a weekly basis throughout Europe, in their competitions. As does pyrotechnics. On a far larger scale than we did in Udine. I remember how these were lapped up after Rennes away too, quite a sway in opinion."

This looks to me that he is saying it was the GB who done the Banner he also says a couple of pages before this comment that the bhoy who assaulted the steward had nothing top do with the making of the banner

Edit he has now made this comment
"The guy named by Celtic is not a member of the Green Brigade, hence he isn't responsible for the banner."

Does your version of change include thousands of Celtic fans like myself who support Celtic because like Celtic they are from an Irish background.
For a over a hundred years Celtic have been a place where the Irish community in Glasgow/Scotland can come and celebrate their Irishness whithout fear of attack or intimidation. To me Jeannie it's much more than just going to a football match.

Great post in my eyes, the GB seem to think they are better than the rest of us, and bigger than the club too. The club has asked us not to sing these songs, Lenny has asked us not to, our Chairman has asked us not to, but the GB think * the lot of you because we're better placed to make that decision. I think Lenny is more concerned about Celtic than the GB are, they want the headlines and the reputation, maybe they would like to be remembered as the fuckwits that got Celtic banned from Europe

It was the GB who cut out the add ons to Willie Maley, BOTOB, and a few more I can't think off the top of my head.

The vitriol spouted from fellow supporters about the GB when they are clearly not informed on the subject is mental.

Bill Leckie can't fine us, make us play closed doors or chip us out of Europe. I'd guess its the consequences of this week's banner rather than the content thats causing anger

I might not relate to Irishness but that's because I feel like a Scot and am proud of it. I don't have a problem with the Irish support or the fact that the club has a proud Irish history either. The Irish are much like the Scots in that we have a history of being Oppressed in times gone by and we both incorporate that in our folk music....but that's the point I suppose I am trying to make. .....a lot of things are history. Most of us have moved on and we think of things differently.

As someone pointed out Irishness has been diluted over generations and many of us feel more Scottish than anything else......it's not that we're anti Irish rather we don't relate to Irishness in the same way. In addition we have fans of my creeds and cultures who're just as proud of their roots. As generations pass on the Irishness will ever more be diluted in Scotland it's just a fact of life really. I'm sorry if you feel that change will bring to an end the sense of Irish Community ...like you I hope not as I love the Irish but change is inevitable in history.

You say that for you it's more than going to a football match.....well I can see where you're coming from but can you see where I am coming from? I love the club, it's ethos and I enjoy going to every game I can. I sing and shout with the best of them or go my dinger as the Scots say. I'm very passionate about our team and the game and it's something I look forward to week in week out. For me it's all about the beautiful game. I love to win and I will them on to win ..sometimes I feel like I'm the one taking every kick of the ball! I don't think about anything other than the game. I feel that's what football is all about ........put the right product on the park and the atmosphere will take care of itself.

Yep heard it chanted last week in fact but we've seen the difference in opinions on chanting between Uefa and SFA in the last fortnight. One done nothing and one fined the club so i think it was asking for trouble to have the banner aimed towards the one that will respond with a severe punishment.
Uefa apparently sees stuff like this as an issue needing dealt with so we can't give them the ammo to nail us imo.

You really are trying to make me and the tens of thousands of Celtic fans like me look like dinosaurs Jeannie.
I've attended hundreds of Celtic games all over Scotland,England, and the continent and the overwhelmingly majority of us who attend these games sing as many Irish songs as Celtic songs.
Far from being "diluted" we are as proud of our heritage just as much as our founding fathers were.
You just have to look at Seville for which we won the best fans award....it was the biggest Celtic/Irish celebration ever.Yep,it must of been some other set of fans watching Charlie and the Bhoys and Shebeen sing Celtic/Irish rebel songs.Wonder why UEFA gave us an award then, when thousands of us were singing "political" songs but now wish to fine us for the same songs.
Don't you worry Jeannie the Irish diaspora at Celtic park are still far from being "diluted".

Bear in mind I'm not the only one who thinks this way and it's not me gloating over it either. I just gave an opinion on how things may turn out not a prediction.

Lets hope the bhoys are in full voice tomorrow after the extremely unfair criticism they have received the last few days. Best thing about the club this year imo. Green Brigade abu
