Rod slated them in the press straight after a Celtic game, then again right before a cup final. I wish he would * off and slate people in his own time without involving the club.

 

As Tommy Burns poetically put it, Celtic are more than a football club. We are a cause, a champion for the oppressed.

If someone wants to enjoy the benevolence and support of the Celtic support while supporting a political party who perpetuate the hurt that our football club was set up to relieve, I think it is fair game to call that out.

 

Don't think we are ever going to agree on this. If you think football exists in some bubble outside of the real world. I think that is actually quite dangerous and hope it never happens at Celtic.

This may be about them but it could also quite easily be their mum or dad that is one of the 4,000 disabled individuals who have died after being ruled fit to work after the Tories brought in their ATOS assessments.

It could be one of their family members who are of the 1 million individuals now reliant on food banks to live.

Supporters come from all political backgrounds nowadays and by agreeing that fans who don't chime with yours aren't welcome says more about you than anything else. I'm not a Tory supporter but I know people who voted Tory in this election and who are massive Celtic fans to boot. Just bcos I don't agree with them doesn't mean they shouldn't support this club & I definitely wouldn't have the gall to tell them to get to *. This isn't your Celtic mate it's every ones and as much as you would love all supporters to be socially conscious, Tory hating, snp voting, pro nationalists that's just not real life.

These banners are just cringing. Football should be just about Football. What's next, are they going to create a banner slagging off the Lib Dems and telling tax evaders like Dermot Desmond too f%&K off. Instead of spending days creating a hateful negative banner they should chill out and get laid

As a Celtic fan is he not entitled to express his views on the GB.

 

The fact that you live in a society in which families are reliant on food banks should make you feel embarrassed, but you are only too happy to dismiss their suffering because you are fed up hearing about 'politics'.

If the banner made you feel embarrassed, I suggest that you simply adopt the same approach you do to other people's misery, and ignore it.

 

The political landscape has changed immeasurably since our foundations.
