Gyp R, serious question with no alterior motives as i see your passion about GB - if Celtic said GB were welcome next week at match but that any banners being used must be fully checked by club in advance what do you think GB would say?

 

Do you think if the first leg hadn't been turned into such a circus the second leg would have been a lot more low key ?

 

Didn't mean to particularly single you out btw yours was just the last similar post I saw.

 

What if some of the fans disagree with the representative? How do you represent upwards of a million people??

 

Why can't we/they just concentrate on football at the football? SHOULD disband the whole area and lock the seats back down indefinitely.. I know I've heard it all before..but they create a good atmosphere.... yeh and a load of embarrassment to go with it..no thanks and since we keep getting hammered by eufa hopefully PL closes that section for every European tie this season

 

I do think they are true supporters. I'm sure they buy loads of merchandise, season tickets, create a fantastic atmosphere, wonderful displays, etc. A better way of putting it would be "they should perhaps reflect on whether or not their actions in deliberately flouting the rules are actually "supporting" the club or in fact hurting it."

 

And I'd say you have no right to tell anyone how good or bad a fan they are, that is pure arrogance.

Are the green brigade better fans than people who have had season tickets longer than the green brigade have existed? *.

The Green Brigade bring a great deal of colour and noise to the ground in games that would otherwise lack it, everyone appreciates that, but that doesn't mean they're better than anyone else that's paid money to get in, and it doesn't mean they can flaunt the rules and get away with it more than anyone else, at the expense of the club and other fans.

 

They would see this as an opportunity to create more friction between them and the board and stand outside protesting.

 

I would say there are loads of supporters around the stadium he see themselves as more than the average supporter. Some maybe never miss a game, others maybe travel long distances, others maybe spend a large percentage of their income. I am sure there are also some in the GB he feel they are better because of the time and effort they put in. Should we look down our noses at all of these because they ha

Difficult agreed.. but you could have CSA, The Celtic Trust, GB etc... all put forward a candidate and then have an election. And rotate the role say every three years..

At least there would be better dialogue..

 

Aye you are right man, that's probably the cue for me to say no more, I think when we hit depths of rubbish ing Celtic fans credentials if they don't happen to give a * about politics or not

I think any sensible person would agree with this, quite disturbing to see utter fannies stating they are disgusted in Celtic fans for not caring enough about politics, that's probably one of the worst things I've ever read on here and that is saying something.

Also the GB think they are better than us debate, they are arrogant etc is a poor road to go down as well, by the same token I don't agree with everything they do and some of their politics at times but it's uncalled for and after all people should remember it's them who will take the punishment for this and the ones slagging them to buggery I hope will be doing their bit for the atmosphere in those 2 games

 

Banners aren't a safety issue tho.. the safety issue is more real and understandable. We aren't going to get a ban for an illicit banner or chanting.

Good question, I think it was always going to be explosive but the incidents in the corner with Griffiths no doubt kept the pot boiling.

It could have been worse as well if we had of given them more tickets and they had chosen to sell them to all and sundry, the fact they didn't do that was important, and stopped the presence of a larger Sevco and English gathering in that corner

 

What, the GB would refuse and instead simply protest?

I know not safety issue but certainly one which is costing the club in UEFA terms financially and reputation also.

With regards anyone caught taking flares in then it should be court issue as risking the lives of many innocent (that isn't aimed at GB btw, but use of Any unauthorised flares full stop in in high capacity closed premises).

 

As well just closing down completely the way * are going on in here. Banner was there as a wind up to that orange mob who shout 10 x worse obscenities at us. All this over a * banner, Jesus!

 

The very board that have got us to 6 championships on the spin. Some clearly don't remember how bad it really was under the Kelly's, Whytes & McGinns. Basically, the GB need to calm there spams and tone it down with regard to the RA. And as a few have already said on here, political views can be left outside Celtic Park. We accept all, Black, white, Catholic, Protestant, socialist or Tory. As long as they support Celtic on match day then surely that's all we really give a f**k about.

 

Seems the earlier thread closure hasn't had the calming effect wanted.
