The clubs statement today was merely a poltical agenda forbidding any political reference from a certain group of people. I must be thick as * but me thinks hypocrisy

And you think calling them a group of wee guys in one corner of the stadium is patronising?

The 'group of wee guys', like it or not, are very influential in our stadium mate.

When they sing songs, show banners or make a statement everyone notices.

It can only benefit the club if there is communication between the two. The current situation obviously isn't working.

You are right. The board have done plenty for them though wouldn't you agree? Own section.. then when faced with the problem of the council essentially trying to shut them down with all that health and safety garbage they took the huge step of introducing the very first standing section the the uk.

The group in my opinion are trying to create a divide between them and the board, so that they can get the support of the rest of the fan Base which would essentially render the suits puppets to the green brigade.

We already have some of their supporters on here talking about fan ownership... the problem is I really don't see them having the support of the rest of the fan Base at the moment, they are going to have to be a lot smarter about it than what they are currently doing

"but we don't do it every week LOL" isn't much of a defense when pyro is banned outright.

They are no more 'influential' than any single Celtic fan sitting or standing at any other seat in the stadium.

They have no remit to talk on any Celtic fans behalf. They bring noise and colour, much needed noise and colour right enough but that's it.

Come on calling them a group of wee guys is insulting and patronising...

I'm not saying they are angels and you are right they do push their boundaries but the action the club has taken is over the top..

And the Club is out of touch on a lot of issues, the smart thing to do would be for a joint supporter groups representative to sit on the board. This would ensure representation and transparency and would help with the overall running of the club. This role could be interchangeable amongst the different groups for a period of time agreed by the board and the groups.

OK, I disagree but in the interest of continuing the chat...

The Board are not in place to pander to any fan group anywhere in the stadium.

There's several Celtic fans on the Board, who's deciding what's 'Celtic fan' enough? Does Peter Lawwell need to join the GB to represent Celtic fans?

No I don't agree there should be a spokesman for the green brigade. I think there should a an impartial spokesman who deals with the fans in general.

I'm not even sure if that would be possible... As a support the Celtic fans are unique in that there is a very wide and varied view on political, social and football issues, as is seen on a daily basis on this forum.

I don't care about the political aspects of it, but when Celtic plays in UEFA competitions, it has to adhere to the rules of that competition, whether or not the board, or you and I, agree with those rules. IMO, any "fan" who commits acts that they KNOW are against those UEFA rules and will cost the club fines and/or further sanctions, should really reflect on whether or not they are actually a true supporter of the club.

Honestly arrogance, do you know how long it takes to set up their stadium displays and their fundraising efforts, they are anything but arrogant that is uncalled for.

Quite ironic really.....about 10 days ago I casually mentioned on the GB thread the possibility that there is bound to be a good display for this one and the general reaction dismissed me saying why would we bother etc and no chance there would be, why give them the time of day etc.....safe to say that even if I say so myself I didn't think they would be THAT good or cause such a stink
