In your hypothetical situation of an American with no emotional attachment to Ireland or it's history then I imagine they would have no strong opinion either side of the divide and therefore wouldn't be offended that many Celtic supporters do have an affinity with it.

I don't imagine anyone sitting in the home end at Parkhead wouldn't feel welcome last night, whether or not they knew or understood songs being sung or banners being flown.

Poor little sensitive *,on their forums they call us bigots yet rejoice from the death or killing of catholics.Linfield have the Pink Hand commandos out bashing their drums when they play sevco and sing sectarian stuff about Catholics and yet take the moral high ground when they get a few songs and banners back at them. Loyalist filth, always the victim and always lying.Tiocfaidh ar la:censored:

His problem doesn't seem to be with anything that happened last night but rather people been told to * up on here unless I am reading it wrong.

And for the record, nothing has come of these charges yet. We haven't yet been told the banners broke any rules - fairly confident that will pass.

Wouldn't be too upset if the club just told the GB to get *, too many problems caused by them.

I think its because its been pretty heated in here when anyone has critised the banner in any way.

I have no strong opinion on the Vietnam war but would feel uncomfortable being around posters and banners aimed to provoke the other side.

I suppose we just have different views and no point discussing them online where nothing is going to be resolved, probably best agree to disagree

Yes you are totally right RobbieK. We should have banned these guys a long time ago. Yeah we are as bad as them. At least their banners only portray support for armed forces and terrorist organisations that support our troops. Honest to *. 2017 and republican banners at Paradise. And another thing that terrorist flag we fly above the ground, that tricolour.

    But then again.
    Let's all get offended.

But but its only banter, those pesky feenyins are tae blame.

A Linfield fan who sang a sectarian song at football match against Celtic will “face the wrath of his wife” a court heard today.

Scott Colville, 46, from Belfast was caught loudly singing the phrase "F****n b******s" at the Parkhead stadium where the Northern Irish side lost 4-0 on Wednesday night in a Champions League qualifier.
He was lifted by officers before the match and spent a night in the cells before his appearance at Glasgow Sheriff Court where he admitted the offence contrary to the Offensive Behaviour at Football Act.

Sheriff Brian Cameron told Colville “I think the wrath of your wife will probably be more than the punishment I’m going to hand out, particularly when she hears you have been fined the sum of £300.”
Procurator fiscal depute Lauren Staunton said: “Police witnesses observed the accused singing a well known football song ‘Super Rangers'.

“They could hear the accused singing loudly ‘we hate Celtic F****n b******s’.”

Kate Phillips, defending, said greengrocer Colville had been drinking since he got on the ferry in Belfast yesterday morning and after arriving in Glasgow around 3.30pm before the match.

“He was under the influence at the time and he found himself caught up in the atmosphere of everything else that going on and joined in with singing.”

Miss Phillips added: “He will return to Belfast at some point today, to face the wrath of his wife who is not too impressed.”

You think they'd have set punishments. Funny to look on their list of punishments and they seem just random amounts. We were fined €19k for fireworks at Man City away, the same week Zorya were fined €16k for setting off fireworks, throwing of objects, field invasion and stairways blocked :97:

They also fined Lyon €100k for fireworks, stairways blocked, field invasion and insufficient organization. Plus banned Lyon from Europe for 1 season on probation for 2 years. Quite severe when they broke only 1 rule different to another team who were only fined €16k.

Anyone get the feeling UEFA are more offended by the banners than the Linfield fans?
