I think the Celtic statement is excellent.

Rangers' statement was reactive, emotional and the language used only stokes the fire that certain sections of the media are only too keen to exploit. The Rangers fans statement is even worse. It's just inflammatory.

Are the displays any more offensive than the 'songbook' as the Rangers fans call it? Is it anymore sectarian? No.

What have the governing body of Scottish football done about Rangers' sectarian singing? Nothing. So I'll be very surprised if anything is done here.

I really didn't miss the poison this game brings.

To paraphrase, it basically said "We're not getting involved in '* for tat', we've got our own process for dealing with stuff like this and we'll follow that process".

They also thanked the 'overwhelming majority' of fans.

Don't quote Rangers forums. It's against site rules.

Very professional from Celtic, unlike the childish bullshit that came from Scotland's Shame.

A Celtic spokesman said: "Celtic will not become involved in a * for tat spat regarding all events at Celtic Park on Saturday.

"We will deal with all issues arising in a proper and professional manner in line with our well established policies.

"Saturday was a fantastic event for the club and our fans worldwide.

"We thank the overwhelming majority of our supporters for the positive backing they gave to the team and for making this such a great occasion."

That's a great statement. Makes them look like total amateurs as they play to the gallery as usual.

Aye it is good but I would have liked a more obvious rebuttal to the claim that there was anything 'overtly sectarian' said/sung by us on Saturday, something along the lines of - While chanting/singing was clearly heard, from both sets of supporters on Saturday, it is very clear that the Celtic supporters did not engage in singing sectarian songs. We will let the board of the rangers comment on their own fans singing ... -

Some people need some * perspective. The Green Brigade have been fantastic for Parkhead, they bring atmosphere and color. At some games under Strachan Parkhead was a ghost town, they come up with new songs, witty displays and show a commitment to the club far beyond what many in here contribute, including myself.

These "not in my name" fans are footballing NIMBY's. There are instances when I don't agree with the Green Brigade but I accept there positions and respect their demonstrations because that is the Celtic way: diversity colors our club. I know this particular instance this wasn't the Green Brigade but if it was they would still get my support even though I don't agree with them.

What we must remember is this is precisely what they Huns and the police want, for us to turn against each other. The Hun support is a fragmented mess; the authorities would live to disband any act of solidarity. In all honestly, at times the authorities have treated the Green Brigade as subhuman scum, door-stepping at their homes and kettling them in the streets. * them, * the lot of them

Whatever it was acts the exactly same as Rangers did. It's like when you hate someone because they're an absolute * *, then they die and a 4 years later you meet another complete and total * and you hate that person too. It's not the same *, but he's still a *.
