The PLC will have to tread very carefully if this is true.

Football isn't for fans anymore. Why would you spend your hard earned to be treated like that?

If the government and club board members are trying to kill the game in this country they are doing a fine job.

Seems the Celtic board is conducting their own little football act. Focusing in on a specific group within a group.

There isn't going to be anyone left at the football in 10 years if something drastic doesn't change soon. People are getting * off with this *.

Complete discrimination in that case, and they have just put up a post on facebook about new banners at the front of the stadium boasting about equality :97:

    Equally banned I guess.

I thought you were of the (sensible) opinion flares have to stop? If that is the case surely you back their stance?

What is it going to take before people realise they are dangerous and have no place in a stand of people that contain children, disabled people and women that are there to support their team just as much as the idiots with the pyro?

I can't speak for Sean, but aren't the club just using this instance as an excuse to hammer a certain section of our fanbase, regardless of the fact they may not actually have all been involved with the flares? In fact, from what I've heard not all of those banned were even at the game!

It looks as though the club are simply using the flares incident as an excuse to push an agenda.

I do agree that flares have to stop but banning a whole section, whether they were are the game or not and whether they set of pyro or not, is just as half arsed as this stupid football bill.

    * forbid it ever happens in the vicinity of a disabled little girl! Then all of the boxes would have been ticked with a single stroke! :smiley-laughing002:

Suppose the people thought it was fun to set of flares at the time. They'll no be laughing when they miss the Hamilton game next Tuesday at a freezing atmosphereless Celtic Park.

Oh no wait a minute :47:

I think all members of the Green Brigade should be arrested and forced to build a giant David Cameron statue made out of Gold payed for the scottish taxpayer with a fountain at the bottom filled with the tears of soon to be redundant NHS workers and then ehy should be shipped to ISRAEL to help defend the holy land against the Palestinian terrorists

There might divided opinion on the use of pyro at matches, but anyone that agrees with the need for this law concerning alcohol on buses is one complete joyless dullard. An absolutely ridiculous waste of resources on Sunday, the same as it usually is when we play up North.

AYRSHIRE POLICE OPERATION - CELTIC V STRANRAER MATCH

On Sunday 10 January 2016 Police Scotland officers from Road Policing and Ayrshire Division carried out checks of supporters’ buses travelling to the Celtic v Stranraer football match at Stair Park, Stranraer.

The operation aimed to highlight the carrying and consumption of alcohol on buses as part of proactive work to reduce violence and disorder at football matches around the country.

During the operation, buses travelling to the match were stopped near to Girvan and checks were carried out to find any alcohol on board.

The Criminal Law (Consolidation) (Scotland) Act 1995 makes it an offence to possess alcohol on a bus being used to transport people to designated sporting events and it also makes it an offence for the driver and hirer to allow alcohol on board.

During the operation, 48 buses were stopped and checked. Around 200 litres of alcohol were seized and four people are subject of reports to the Procurator Fiscal in relation to offences under this legislation and also in respect of possession of controlled drugs.

Inspector Dean Pennington from Ayrshire’s Road Policing Department said: “This was a very worthwhile operation which sent a clear message that Police Scotland will not tolerate the consumption or carrying of alcohol on board buses travelling to football matches.

“Whilst the checks proved positive and removed a significant amount of alcohol, no doubt helping to reduce potential disorder, it is disheartening to see that some supporters continue to carry and consume alcohol on their way to matches.

“It is against the law and we will continue to target anyone who ignores the legislation, to ensure people can enjoy the football in a safe environment.”

No wonder numbers are down at games
