They can * off with them flares, hope they find who done it and ban them. Only way it will stop.

I'm not someone in favour of flares but by that logic we shouldn't have songs or flags either

I'm not particularly against pyro in the stadium, but in fairness mate if somebody 10 rows back hits you on the back of the head with a flag or a 'dodgy lyric' i reckon you'd be grand. A flare on the other hand...

Fact is that if they're not going to provide safe means of using/disposing of flares then a complete ban is necessary for safety/game stoppage reasons.

Also, if i was sitting somewhere with my kids and somebody suddenly started waving a fireball about I'd be * off and i guess that needs to be considered too.

If there was an area like safe standing, where safety gear was provided for any accident and sand buckets for extinguishing etc it would be fine, but they'll never do that...

 

One question.
Why the * are Celtic so meek as to accept a punishment from UEFA yet other clubs in Europe have * all punishment handed down to them.

I'm guessing that in most cases we are banged to rights as its a clear ruling that pyro is banned. I'm aware Inter also got fined for one pyro that was lit the same game we got done, so clubs do get punished not just us.

On uefa.com following every Euro week there are a list of offences that will go in front of a disciplinary and almost every time there are a few clubs on there for pyrotechnics.

The key difference is that particularly in Germany the ultras have a strong working relationship with the club and in principle agree to adhere to not letting them off in Euro matches for concessions in other aspects such as domestic games, seeing Celtic from what I can see have zero relationship with our so called ultras there is clearly no dialogue or lines drawn and agreements made meaning anything can happen at particularly the away Euro games and as we have seen it inevitably does.

 

Well I'd imagine they'd look at "illicit chanting" the same as racism or close enough to it

This whole defence of 'other clubs do it' etc is embarrassing.
We all know UEFA have fined us before for it and yet some wee fannies think its ok to keep doing it , * them ,identify them and ban/prosecute them from now on.

Don't understand why some fans feel the need to be more like other fans than just be who they are...celtic fans.
I'm sure every club that has fans and flares are getting the same fines as we do.
They just don't shout it from the roof tops any more.

Club can just increase the cost of tickets for the new standing section each year to cover the cost of flares...use them then they can pay the price.

 

I'd rather we just ticker taped the * out the place.

 

You get those fake candles . What about a fake flare, llke a massive glow stick. Then everyone's happy. Sorted.
