agree, but not with they way he is saying it.
until we either sort out our basics like passing and decision making, or get new players to play a good european style ( ie lots of passing and attacking ) then i dont think we will be good enough for europe. our defence's positioning and pace is absolutly shocking, and that is where we are going to lose against the european sides.
remember, these teams arent nobody's, they are the best in their respective leagues, so obviously they are going to have players that are just as good as ours, if not better.
edit:
would just like to say, that after saying that, we are definatly beginning to see the team take a little bit of shape and style, but theres still plenty to be learned, and plenty players to come in -
i would say he's wrong. it took us until our 4th game to adapt to Mowbray's European system, which is shocking. the last two games against Hamburg away and Hapoel at home were good results and performances especially as these two teams qualified for the latter stages.
if we'd had played like that in the first 3 games and with more luck, we would of qualified for the last 16 imo.
even in the SPL we have only started to perform recently. very disappointing it took so long to adapt.
i agree with Stevebyl, the defence is still shocking though. -
Also the keeper calling US long ball merchants :97: correct me if i'm wrong but wasn't it the other way round when we played them? -

I think the daily record would make a negative headline out of Tony Mowbray saving a drowning child. For one.
As for the goalkeeper - * him in the ear - if he said it. For two.
We're playing them this week, right. It's a wee bit of banter. Every player will big up their own team against the next opposition. Put it down to testosterone.
We go there with nothing to lose. Let's see Mowbray mix it up a bit and get a deeper feel for fringe players working alongside 'regulars'. An experiment.
The way we could go, who'd you prefer to watch? Rabid Vienna or The Famous Glasgow Celtic (and We're Off to........) -
Payer is a *. Said he would smash any Celtic fan who came onto the park at the game at CP. He's pish anyway.
-
Too negative? :97: What the * is he on about!? :43:
Sounds to me like he's just trying to add a bit of spice to what is going to be a meaningless fixture. *. -

That keeper is talking out of his ring if you ask me!!
But now we are on the subject of our style in europe, i think we have to change it!
We are trying to play open football but once we play teams like Arsenal and Barcelona they are going to give us a footballing lesson! And it wasn't long ago teams like these were leaving paradise empty handed! -
dare i say it , in europe we should play a system depending on the team we are up against ie barca, defend like * and counter attack, but we really need to learn to defend properly.
-
Negative tactics isn't the reason why we're out of Europe, a lack of quality in our squad is. That is something Mowbray himself has said.
That being said if it kicked off now we'd have a far better run at it, it appears on the face of it that our team is finally starting to click under Mowbray with no other distractions like international breaks. -
I don't think we've been 'negative' or 'long-ball merchants'.
It was the kind of thing we got all the time under O'Neil. 'Too physical'. Rangers get it, too.
He's just at the wind-up. -
