Yes I am sure about it and I am confident about winning the league.

Also Celtic do release these statements at this time every year.

I may have been stretching the truth with 4 but I know for a fact he has told you at least one other time that the system is changing which you've conveniently ignored.

It may even have been in your 5am drunken rant actually.

Financial figures are all good and well but our performances for months have been depressing.

Lack of investment in the team has shown and the same problems exist that were there at the end of last season - no decent left back, no creation in the middle, no pace up top.

Our only investment in January was another midfield 'grafter'.

This season actually reminds me of 2004-2005 when 2 equally dire old firm teams bored us all into submission and were both mince in Europe.

I just hope it doesn't end the same way.

Well if we win the league this year which we're in pole position to do then odds are we're going to be out of debt this time next year whilst the huns will have had to seriously downsized. That should leave us in a good position for a sustained period of dominance.

That was a refreshing read and basically John Reid has just stuck two big fat fingers up at those who are certainly NOT in the know and do not understand that we are working in a very strict market in regard to which level of player we can afford to bring in and then pay!

    Regarding CL qualifying,

UEFA Champions League 2009?10 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

If I can find that...so can you.

Think that should put the argument to bed!

Chivs I'm warning you now to stop flaming people and start researching before spouting pish! I will report you unless you stop flaming. Do not become the reason for this thread being closed!

Exactly what I was thinking mate. We're more than good enough to do the treble this year, which means uncle Wattie will be retired upstairs and super swally will get the Huns job. Young and untested and with no money to spend, they'll be a spent force for at least 3 years in which we should be trundling along nicely racking up more championships :50:

I did not say anything about league winners not in the champions league so i dont need to do research as i have already done it, i was merely pointing out if we did not win the league we would then give rangers the upper hand.

and another thing i managed to read>>>>>

Co-efficient fears in worst season for 14 years
NOT since 1994, when all four competing Scottish clubs limped tamely out of Europe before September had come to an end, has the country's Uefa co-efficient ranking taken the kind of battering it has suffered in the opening months of this season.

A post-mortem is premature while the patient is still breathing and sole survivors Celtic may yet turn around their own poor start in the Champions League to rescue a European campaign which currently threatens to be one of the worst in Scottish football history.

There is no doubt, however, that the elimination of Rangers, Queen of the South and then, on Thursday night at Fir Park, Motherwell at the first hurdle of their respective tournaments has damaged the reputation of the nation's football. If you care to throw in Hibernian, who were dumped from the second round of the Intertoto Cup by Swedish side Elfsborg, the picture looks even more bleak.

With Celtic so far picking up just one point from their first two group stage games in the Champions League, ahead of back-to-back meetings with trophy holders Manchester United, the outlook is not rosy with future participation in the elite competition now under serious threat.

Scotland have slipped to 12th in this season's provisional Uefa co-efficient table which will determine the access list for the Champions League and Uefa Cup in the 2010-11 campaign.

If Scotland drop just one more place, then next season's SPL title winners will not gain automatic entry to the lucrative group stage of the Champions League. It is a bleak scenario which, on the face of it, reflects badly on the standard of football in the SPL. But Walter Smith, the doyen of Scotland's managerial fraternity, was quick to defend the domestic game yesterday in light of the recent disappointments on the European stage.

I found this document and i printed by a news paper and i was going by these facts i apolagize for the flamming people i am just woried about our club.

Considering the previous performance of our current board and what the team has achieved, this was expected. They are good results because we are well run business wise and we are winning leagues and progressing into UCL group stages and beyond. You take away either and those good results disappear like a fart in the wind.

Celtic is doing brilliantly given the circumstances but margins are still razor tight

Makes winning the league all that more important

    A dose of reality

Also, John Reid's statement is a must read for everyone. It doesnt blow wind up your *, its giving you reality and it must be taken in.

Everyone on here is a fan and worries about the club, it's no excuse to flame.

Read the rules. Next time I won't warn you.

I'm not Peter Lawwells PA unfortunately no.

What are you missing from what the board, Lawwell and Reid are saying? They were fully prepared to bolster the squad but the stagnant market and indivdual cirumstances dictated it wasn't to be. What do you want them to do in that instance? Sign a player for a couple of million to appease a section of Parkhead's * for player expenditure?

Absolutely crazy accusations and suggestions being thrown about and they all boil down to ignoring the facts and the reality of the situation.

Its gas the way people think the board is out to screw everyone. Its a PLC, their salaries are there for all to see and they do get bonuses for making Celtic successful so why bite the hand that feeds you.

Absolute SPIN of the highest order.

Currently lead the Clydesdale Bank Premier League. (EDIT if the HUNS won on Sunday)
    • Scotland’s sole participant in the UEFA Champions League Group Stage. (Thats really hard as it between two teams)
    • Co-operative Insurance Cup finalists. (on penalties)
    • Continued participation in the Homecoming Scottish Cup. ( 1/4 finals- Is that an achievement

    Absolute PISH.

    Reid ommitted.

    3 wins in 9 games.
3 out of the last 4 with no goals scored.
No wins at Home against Huns this season.
DUMPED out of Europe by a PUB TEAM
Worst CL record by ANY team this season.
    worse defence than Hearts.
HUns have scored MORE goals and have better Goal Difference.

We still have a crap team

i'll await the happy clappers to tell me " how long have you been a supporter. etc etc

" do you rembember the 90's etc etc

" are you a Hun etc etc.

" we are top of the league etc etc

" back the team etc etc
