Interesting that Griffiths has more assists than dembele even though hes played far less games. Dembele is known for "holding the ball up" and bringing others into play but its in fact Griffiths that has created more goals in far less games.

 

True but it just proves that stats don't tell the entire story because it's pretty clear that Dembele has better hold up play/link up play.

 

Griffiths is a very underrated player.

He is nothing like he is made out to be - the suggestion that he is basically similar to Kris Boyd is * ridiculous.

His hold-up play and bringing of others into the game is not exactly Sutton-esque but it is not a glaring weakness either. He has a decent all-round game but of course he could improve on parts of it.

 

Either that or everyone is so fixated with Dembele (and how much he's worth) that Griffiths doesnt get the credit he's due.

 

I agree, Griffiths has some great wee touches and passes that often set up other players with the opportunity to score. Much more to his game than a penalty box poacher.

Griff awesome stats , only thing missing is his hold up play , not helped by his size , but could still improve in that area , first touch at times , one of the best strikers of a ball in and around the box .
