Honestly....only start of the season but how good have Stokes and Commons been?
I said start of the season could see Commons getting about 15+ and the way Stokes is going I expect 20+ in the league

 

What are Commons' overall stats for us now?

Should make some reading for an attacking midfielder.

 

110 games, 96 starts.

38 goals, 41 assists.

Kris Commons in all competitions with Celtic.

 

* * Commons, for £300k that has to be up there with our best bargains eh?

Can see him possibly ending up with 20 goals and 20 assists this season

 

I don't care what anybody says, those stats are the reason Stokes must start on Wednesday with Commons playing off him.

If it's not working by HT then fine change it up, but for the lads confidence going forward he has to start.

Sadly as the week goes on I'm starting to think that won't be the case.

Those Stokes stats are good, last season he was done in by injury but when he came back he performed, especially in the Cup final. He gets unfairly criticised imo

 

Incredible consistency over a sustained period of time, even when he came back from injury last season he picked up where he left off.

Just start him on Wednesday, people go on about his lack of pace but it's a red herring for me. He would be dropping deep and making things happen, have the quick players running off him and he will create chances, he has undeniable proven facts at creating goals.

Honestly, he is so hot right now that playing him should be a foregone conclusion and could be the absolute making of the lad if he puts on a show.

 

Just noticed there Fortunè had 3 assists in 10/11 and he left at the end of August...

He'd have done well in Lennon's team if he stayed

 

Commons when on form is a genius, absolute bargain at £300k.

I'd have happily paid £5m for someone of his quality.

 

Actually very shocked Charlie Mulgrew hasn't set up a goal yet.

 

Aye, the rise of Mulgrew has been mental when you think of it in hindsight. When he signed everybody just thought he'd be a back-up left back. But just over 3 years later he has scored 23 goals and made 25 assists playing centre-mid, centre-back, left-mid, left-back and won player of the year and is on the verge of 10 caps for Scotland.

 

I think Commons and Stokes could hit 20 apiece for us this season.

 

I thought those stats looked not too shabby til i realised if you ignore the cliftonville and shakhtar games then they look * we'll just have to tear into ajax over both legs then :icon_mrgreen:
