Leckie? Bill Bitter Hun Leckie gave our entire team 8's apart from two 9's? We must have been good!

You work for the sun? Hooper 5? Brown 6? You intitled to your opinion but * me bit harsh we narrowly got beat by a fantastic team on their own patch thought they all played brilliantly

    I would go:

    Forster 9
    Ambrose 9
    Wilson 9
    Izaguirre 7
    Lustig 8
Samaras 5 (purely based on early sub)
    Brown 7
    Ledley 6
    Mulgrew 4
    Wanyama 8
    Hooper 6

I though Mulgrew had a pretty poor game, other than that, it was hard to fault anyone really.

Crticism of Hooper is unfair, he must have been freezing!

Just ignore my high praise for Forster, Ambrose and Wilson then aye :87:?

Brown wasn't fit, he shouldn't of played in my opinion (I understand the hip problem) but up against Barcelona, we need players to be at there best, and I believe Forster, Ambrose and Wilson pretty much managed that (and an honourable mention for wanyama, I was terrified he was going to get sent off after starting on a yellow, but if anything it improved his game, his timing with some tackles was fantastic). I am not having a go at brown, he just shouldnt of been on as far as I am concerned.

Hooper. Again, up against it, he was getting little service but I felt there was several instances, where he simply didn't work hard enough. He seems to want the ball played to him and isn't prepared to go chase for it (not lost causes, genuine descent balls that are played maybe a bit short or too far). Considering how high up the park Barcelona play, if he would of just pushed that bit harder to go get the ball, there where atleast two instances he could of essentially of been one on one with the keeper and I would fancy Gary to make the most of it. The fact I know he is capable is what infuriated me most.

Ledley was pretty poor last night. One of his worst performances for us imo.

I'm a huge Ledley fan, but I agree. He seemed nervous, he and Mulgrew both. Hopefully, they settle down before the next match.

    Forster - 9.
    Lustig - 8.
    Ambrose - 9.
    Wilson - 9.
    Mulgrew - 6.
    Wanyama - 7.
    Izaguirre - 6.
    Ledley - 6.
    Samaras - 8.
    Hooper - 6.
    Commons - 5.
    Forrest - 6.
    Kayal - 6.

Probably missed someone out there, but I think that seems about right, from where I'm sitting. Forster would have got a 10 if we'd got the draw, even though neither of the goals were his fault. It would feel weird giving him a 10, when he did technically concede two goals.

He is our best player usually imo. He may be struggling a little bit with match fitness, or fitness in general, as he has not played that much recently but at least we can be very confident he will be back to his usual standard pretty soon.

I thought Hooper did well. Seemed most balls into him were very hot, yet he was controlling them, and distributing them quite well. He was given no time on the ball.

The next European game is against Barcelona at Celtic Park. We're going to need all of our best players fully fit and available.

The 8 and 9 ratings were a bit over the top. As a team we defended pretty well but going forward we were pretty non existent. Sammy going off was a huge blow for us. Keeper deserved a high mark for making a few decent saves but the rest of the team all deserved average marks for putting a decent shift in. Still pig sick at that goal but its the only way you can approach a game against that calibre of team.

For *'s sake man, you do realise we were playing one of the 2 best club sides in the world last night and we came within 10 seconds of drawing with them on their own pitch?

The players thoroughly deserve to get ratings of 8 and 9. They also thoroughly deserve every bit of praise that has been lavished upon them. It was a heroic effort from the Bhoys last night.
