if we in the europa league or champions league, i could perhaps see the board investing in something like that

I also really like the main stand as it is. Let's face facts, though, going by police figures, it's already half empty most league matches (we sell 45k tickets per match, but actual attendance is around 30k).

I would be surprised if that was true. The next CL final is being played at the Olympiastadion in Berlin and that stadium has columns supporting the roof all round the ground and there will be restricted views as a consequence. Doesn`t stop it being a good stadium and acceptable venue for a European final.

For those seats next to the main stand you just wouldn`t sell those for the final. Milan insisted that none of their fans were given seats behind that big pillar when we played them in the CL last 16 a few years ago.

If and when the economy picks up and people have more spending money then I can see the attendances picking up again, If we can regularly fill the stadium then an expansion would be great and I think we could manage 70-80k Crowds given the right occasion.

Still, It wont happen anytime soon unless we sell the naming rights to fund the work but that seems an unlikely scenario.

It's not individual clubs that apply it is done through the governing bodies of any country and there is no way the SFA would put forward us or The Govan Reichstag.

As said above, the Berlin Olympic stadium has restricted views by virtue of the support pillars around the top tiers.

Not at this time and probably not while we're still playing in Scottish football (not that I want us to move to england) I just dont think the board would see it as a justifiable expense.

Said it before and say it again that is * horrific! The frontage of the main stand above the brick is like something you would see at the front of fir park!!! Plus the stadium is not level!

It's like just putting a big bit of plastic and metal above the brickwork boke !!!

Am I the only one who's see * all up with the stadium ? I quite like the brick front makes it different from other stadiums

Dunno why you bother mentioning Hearts and Hibs, when was the last time we got near selling out playing them?

The stadium is fine as it is, any money spent should be spent getting rid of the restricted view from certain seats

Bit idiotic to say the stadium is not level. The picture is a design concept, do you think because the stadium is not totally level in the picture that if they did come to build it they would make sure the stadium wasn't level also?:56:

Without me getting the spirit level out the picture looks pretty level to me anyway. Some one has taken time to make a design concept on AutoCad or something like that, and all you can do is criticize it. Pretty pathetic to be honest.

Why do you think selling naming rights to the stadium is unlikely? I am surprised we have not done it already. Personally as I have said when this has come up before I have no problem with it been done. I will still call our stadium Celtic Park regardless of any naming rights.

I don't call our stadium Celtic Park anyway, it's usually Paradise or Parkhead.

no chance in the stadium being expanded at the moment purely down to the low attendances throughout league campaign, not entirely sure I would want it either, whenever I see the camp nou, san siro and all the rest on the tele it doesn't look like a good atmosphere, maybe it's just me

I'd rather spend the money on bringing the stadium as it is into the 21st century. The Celtic Way out the front was a really good start.
