MON will and should get the credit for those years as he was the manager, and did win a treble.

He took over some wonderful players and added some wonderful players,in fact in my opinion, that team would beat any team in the EPL today.

His last season however he ran that team into the ground, and that cost us at Fir Park,----he still has to be thought as a legend though.trebles are trebles and if Ronny wins one this year, then we will have a treble of treble winners and Ronny can put claim to that very high position of,legend, also.

Glad that a few have included the Lions. They were legends, to a man, including the peripheral players. I grew up during that period and probably judge players since by that standard. I saw greatness, and even today I feel privileged. McGrain, McStay, Larsson and Lennon, Connelly, Hay deserve inclusion.
Special to mention to Joe McBride, the often forgotten legend, a great goal-scorer and a true gent.

If Joe wasn't out for the season, would Jock have signed Wallace?
How different it might have been.

Joe was never bitter about it, that was life, he said.

it was pretty good in uefa cup, we beat blackburn rovers, liverpool, bovista, and got a draw at the nou camp twice(once in the champions league)

we were poor away from home in the champions league, but a few games we could have win with a quality goalkeeper, such as against lyon and bayern munich.

Legend is a word that should be reserved for few.....

    Maley
    Tully
    Mcgrory
    Stein
Lisbon Lions (Mcneill , Murdoch , Jinky, Chalmers and Lennox in particular)
    Dalglish
    Mcgrain
    Aitken
    Burns
    Mcstay
    Larsson

O'Neill would have made legendary status if he had delivered the uefa cup . Lennon was a great servant but not in the same league as the players listed.

Anyone that doesn't think MON is a legend obviously can't remember the 90s.

Rangers had won 12 of the last 13 leagues, had just finished 21 points above us in the league and were so far ahead of us it was depressing.

O neil turned that around overnight, and ever since we have been better than the huns with the exception of the freak Mowbray season.

O'Neill is one of the most important figures in our history, he sparked the process that made the huns go bust.

No he isn't a legend , and i remember the 90's. As for the huns going bust , most of that damage was done in the early advocaat days of the late 90s before O'Neill even arrived . To be a legend you need to be exceptional , we may never have another true legend .

    Not so hasty man....

I think lubo's story has legendary status...

Signed out of obscurity (to the average fan)...33 years old..scores 2 in his old firm debut...and then goes on to leave many wonderful lasting memories...2 against the huns at ibrox, unspeakably good goals in all competitions, unbelievable, memorable moments of skill (* control) goals from cornerflags, both feet, beautiful assists...... A gift from * mate...

A legend as far as im concerned...

Sometimes its not always about longevity but impact and lasting memory!

But, you're entiltled to your view

    This is merely mine
