So fkn annoying we gifted Lazio that win. It has screwed us big time for 3rd place.

Need to beat Lazio away now to have any chance.

The home game against Lazio and a few horrible decisions (the red cards) cost us this year. I don’t think we were bad at all overall, barring the away game against Atletico.

Hope there's a complaint made about that referee tonight. They should have been down to 9 easily. Disgrace they ended that match with 11 players.

Still believe it we had brought in 4 quality players for £22 million instead of 9 players I think we could have got at least 3rd spot .
The strategy in the next two transfer windows need to change.

How to folk rate our CL campaign now the dusts well and truly settled?

It wasn’t great but wasn’t terrible either. Was pretty mid imo. Defo should have had 1/2 more points.

    MD1. FEY (A)

A good performance first half, maybe edged it but gave away a silly goal on HT. Stupid foul and keeper should’ve saved it. Game over when we went to 10 and conceded the pen. But good for 50-60mins.

    MD2. LAZ (H)

A good performance and we looked the likely team to get the winner. Great goal by Palma but unfortunately offside. CCV gives it away with seconds to go and we lose. Sickner that one. Deserved a point at the very least.

    MD3. AM(H)

One of our best first half performances in the CL in recent times. Lovely football and goals. Again though we give away a pen to let them back in. In the end a point was a fair result again a team that don’t lose very often and can go all the way to the final.

    MD4. AM(A)

Less said the better. Early red at a tough away venue was always gonna end badly. Have to say looked fairly comfortable on the ball before that though, passing it about nicely.

    MD5. LAZ(A)

Played well here again I thought. Kept the ball well and created some decent chances. Didn’t take them though which you can’t do at this level and we were punished late on.

    MD6. FEY(H)

A ‘dead rubber’ at home to Feyenoord. Monkey of our back with a win finally. A enjoyable enough game for there not being much at stake. A wins a win though and some decent football again.

Would give it a 6/10. Played some good stuff especially at home. We look a lot better against the better football teams. Need to cut out the silly reds and pens. Also a bit of bad luck with injuries. Can’t help but think that’s the best group we could’ve got though. Our last shot at the old format.

Obviously we want to win the league this season which will put us straight in but don’t think I’d mind a couple goes at the Europa in the future when we lose the spot. Groups we can definitely compete in and try and get through a knockout round or two. Which is embarrassing long over due.

A lost opportunity. We had a pretty easy group, played well in most of the games, and still couldn’t manage to get 3rd.

I don’t really assign any blame to BR for those, in fact I really liked how we setup in pretty much every game. IMO what cost us, was again the poor recruitment and the obvious weak points. Taylor was poor overall, Hart was poor (FK against Feyenoord, standing inside the goal on numerous occasions, not coming for crosses) and other than Palma (who only really had one good game), we didn’t have any quality out wide.

Would fancy us to do quite well next year I’m the new format IF we can get the recruitment right and actually qualify for the UCL.

Found out that Scotland will lose automatic CL GS spot in 25/26 season if Victoria Plzen beat Fiorentina in both matches in Conference League because it would move Czechs above Scotland in coefficient table thanks to Huns going out against Benfica

I believe they don’t even have to beat them in both matches, just draw in one of them and that’s the Czech league above Scotland..

Thanks to how badly Scottish teams have performed we will probably not have automatic GS entry for 25/26 season but more concerning is for 26/27 season there is only 1 spot in champions league 1 in Europa league and 2 in conference league and that is definite.
That means for Scottish premiership we MUST win 25/26 season or will be dropped to Europa league

Next year can make a difference to the 26/27 season though I do t get concerned about a season 3 years away

Relativised to resources, we are the worst performer; shameful record, only ever won one k/o tie in Europe since Liewell came to us, and that was when he was 6 months in the job, and hadn't been able to work his 'magic' yet.
