sign now so we can make sure we reach the league stage of the CL, this thrift and purse string mentality is * terrible! we havent even filled the position left by the sacking of Thompson is a worrying sign of what's to come.

Sign Rhodes(2nd choice Russell) and a strong confident, composed CB in time for the game next week and that will guarantee the Champs league plus we've got the Ki money aswell

If we wait till The Day after the 2nd leg how many days do we have to bring people in after agreeing deals and stuff? two days at most so thats not time enough, celtic should be on the phone getting deals done now imo.

1 center back for the group stages would keep me happy, the bigger teams would cut it in 2 with the silly decisions made at times. If it was a bigger team tonight it would have easily been 1 or 2 to the opposition because of silly mistakes.

One center back please if we can get our 3 home wins you never know we might get to the last 16 which would be great but I feel this may be impossible without someone solid in the middle. If we do get someone solid I would not only give the last 16 a chance but it may secure our 3rd position and Europa cup football after Christmas.

Lennon must start looking now to secure a half decent player or 2 before the window closes.

im not bothered what position we sign but we desperately need older heads, we have such a young squad and at times it shows they run about like headless chickens! What i also noticed is our bench tonight looked so * threadbare just young lads and duds i dont want a huge pool of players but you do need some sort of quality to come off the bench.

No need too spend til tie is over. Can't see no reason why we cant have few deals in place and only matter completing them, have all work done on them. just matter passing medical and agreeing personal terms.

A lot of that is due to injury though... our squad is actually fairly big. I'd be happy with a good CB and striker.

I would be making a concerted effort to bring in a centre half in the next week for 2 reasons. Firstly, we need one. Secondly, it alerts Championship clubs to the availability of Wilson.

The striker we need can wait until we have secured our place on the big stage, we will then be a stronger proposition should we aim for some genuine quality up top.

The shape of the defense was unsettled without Wanyama. Kelvin Wilson helped steady the ship and Mulgrew can play in midfield, for me that was an interesting development.

But aye, it's time to start thinking about getting in a defender and a midfielder, before we even think about a striker, we have Watt, Hooper, Stokes and Bangura, Commons and Samaras. Wee Forest showed signs that he could play striker too if need be.

The main problem is that if Wilson and Wanyama aren't in the team we are dodgy at the back. I know big Kelvin isn't the most popular, but he's a big solid dude and it's just that when we played 3 at the back, he got found out.

We looked less likely to lose a goal when he came on. But against the big teams in Europe we need options.

We're not their yet, but it's fair to say we have a good chance. So we can start thinking about spending say £10 million of the £23 million we look capable of pulling in.

Ahhh, i wonder what the Rangers chairman now thinks about making more money than us this season.

Well if we could get him for a decent price, and he's a Celtic die hard it wouldnae do any harm. It's gonna be a long assed season. My only issue is, that i reckon Watt deserves his chance. We may get Russell cheaper just now, if he goes on to score a barrel load for United. So aye, fire in a wee cheeky bid and see what the craic is.

if we do sign a player before next week's game, they won't be allowed to play in the qualifier. squads have to be submitted before the first leg.

I would think that Neil Lennon will get in the region of £3-4million to spend if we qualify for the group stage. Rather than try to sign 2-3 players with that money, I hope he goes out and spends the lot on a bit of extra quality at centre-back.

I'm even boring myself now by continually repeating the need for a centre-back but I really believe it's that important if we're to make any kind of impression in the group stage.

Sign Russell (2-3 Million) and then a CB for (1.5-2 Million) and I will be a happy chappie.
