I keep reading about how much progress there has been at the other clubs.....well, im sorry, but im yet to be convinced.
Yes, Aberdeen and Dundee United have good young sides, but only in comparison to the dross they have had over recent years.
Butcher to be Hibs saviour? Maybe he will be, but even they will miss their derbies next year!

The proof will be in the pudding as to how the other teams have progressed when they tackle the European games in the summer.

I think there is a calmness in Scotland now where before there was a tension.....but football wise, seriously, there is no competition. We could play 10 men every week and win the league, and whether it is 5 or 10 or 20 in a row we win, it will not excite the fans.

Whether they ever get back to be as strong as they were is debatable, given the absolute mess they are in......but then im an armchair fan these days, and not a diehard, so it isnt me who is paying for a season ticket. If others are happy to see the league won before it starts, its their call!

Have to admit when they first went * up and I'd picked myself up off the floor after collapsing through excessive laughter, I did think...*, no old firm games. At first I would occasionally watch some of the new clubs games online just for the fun of it. After a couple of month I got bored of it, now I couldn't care less if we ever have to play their offspring, couldn't tell you who, where or when they play next.
    Long may it continue :celt_2:

Do I miss that rancid club and their knuckle dragging hordes with their bile and stomach churning pleghm....No.

What I do miss is that unbelieveable feeling waking up when we played them totally buzzing and excited like a kid on Xmas morning. Heading off out bright and early meeting up with the lads for an early aperitif and some politically incorrect tunes. Heading to the game and being a mixture of excited and apprehensive but generally hyper.

That first glimpse and sound of the atmosphere when you got into the stadium and then looking over and seeing the * and feel the hatred course through every fabric of my being.

The tension as the game was being played and that feeling of total euphoria when we scored and losing it COMPLETELY for a moment. That feeling of knowing you have beat them and feeling the stadium rock and move as we go totally mad (3-0 game takes some beating for that)

Heading back to your local haunt and meeting all the other bhoys and ghirls and partying through the night, with every Tim you meet beaming from ear to ear.

Ripping the pish out of the token zombie in your work for days after it and generally feeling like a dug with two dicks for weeks.

So do I miss THAT club in particular......No.

What I do miss is having a genuine tital rival (and i,m not being disrepectful to the teams in the league just now, i,m just dealing in reality), a rival a despise with all my heart, a threat to us winning the league and giving the games some meaning and edge.....Dont give a * what anyone says, and i,ll take all comments on the chin, but beating Aberdeen, Hearts, Dundee Utd or * Ross County is not comparable to when we beat them.

I for one am looking immensely forward to destroying the * offspring of that club (if they ever live that long:icon_mrgreen:)

It will never excite the fans? Speak for yourself. The prospect of 10 in a row and more excites the * life out of me.

bullshit ! If your saying we can match that type of game in Scottish football again without 'them', your mental. Obviously the people that want them back dont want them back because we love them, its quite the opposite actually. We want them back because that hatred we hold against each other builds one of the best atmospheres footballs ever saw.

and who says we can't get 10 in a row with them back in 2 years? We'll have 4 in the bag by the time they're back. Well if I mean...

At least the trophies get shared about a bit without them around, or good enough to win anything. Teams like Aberdeen and St Johnstone must be loving it.

Don't miss them. Not one bit. Don't need them. Scottish football can prosper without them.

How many good title races have there been though - with Oldco?

2007-08 fair enough, as was 2002-03 and 2004-05. However the majority of seasons when we have won the league, we have won it at a canter by more than 15 points.

They also won't be challenging when they finally get into our league. Will be lucky if they can challenege within 5 years of being in the SPFL.

Barring a sugar daddy prepared to lose millions, or a financial collapse from us, I don't see Sevco ever challenging us. As it stands, they are on the verge of financial meltdown having learned nothing from Oldco's demise it would seem. The team they currently have will more than likely be the team that they have for the foreseeable future as the money simply isn't there to improve the team, and spending would only cripple them even more financially. They don't have any real talent coming through that they could possibly sell on for any great sum of money, and even if they did, that would only go towards plugging the gap that has been left after buying their way to two league titles. They have used up every penny they made from the share issue, and they have two league titles that a decent part time team could win to show for it.

The team that they currently have will be fortunate to win promotion next year, that's providing they are still alive and kicking come then, but if they do, does anyone honestly think they will provide us with serious competition if they make it to the top league?

Anyone hoping for this new entity to seriously challenge us for league titles is living in a fantasy land in my opinion. There is a better chance that they will self destruct before they compete with us, they are already more than halfway there. They have already had to get emergency loans, after raising £22million less than 2 years ago, they are finished.

No room for nostalgia in football.

I'd love to play and beat the new hun team, but there will probably never ever again be competition between the two teams. We've played in the Champions League two years in a row, they've played in the lower divisions of Scottish football. If both teams were in the SPFL, us playing in the * Europa League qualifying rounds and them not playing in Europe would put a big financial gulf between the two teams. Don't think some people actually realise how huge this is.

This version of them seem to be doing a Gretna, i.e storm through lower leagues but as soon as they get whiff of the big leagues they begin to combust and die.

Agreed with above.....I honestly thought I would...I actually don't....I just hate them for what they have done/doing with no remorse and acting like they are innocent...

I prefer having time to get a team ready for the CL,playing the youngsters etc.....the SPFL is doing well without them tbh....exciting games, relegation battles...as I have always said " if anyone misses them them then think this.....think of these dirty cheating * getting a CL spot and we don't,and getting that CL spot through dodgy decisions etc....then we are sitting watching them fire their bile throughout Europe"..

    * THEM LET THEM DROWN LIKE THE SEWER RATS THEY ARE......

    Bring on the CL

I know I shouldnt really bother with their pantomime, but I love watching the * implode :smiley-laughing002::smiley-laughing002:. If they are "reborn" again, there will be officially more versions of "The Rangers" than there is of "The Drifters"!

OH OH............ New world record for them!
