i understand that racisim is wrong and therefore should be punished, however policing internet sites such as facebook sets a very very serious standard.

i mean i could go online now and find 10000000000000000000 racist, illegal, sectarian comments, or comments about crime etc etc, so why should just one be picked up on.

whats next everytime some mentions the word "hun" or "dirty orange *" or "*" or "popes a peado" etc etc someones going to get shopped to the police.

i know i would rarther the police force took there time and effort policing much more serious matters such as murders, rapes, or racial aggrovated crimes (as in first hand), and most importantly this problem as it happens on the streets day in day out!!! than fighting against key boared warriors. if i was a police officer i could go to the huns games and pick up 30,000 arrests in a day for this type of crime, so why set this president???

i believe it is a statement of power, a power which admits it wants or can do * all about this sort off stuff on a matchday or in everyday life. and jumps on the chance to show "look we are clamping down"

    aload of * IMO.

The 20-year-old was released on bail with the conditions that he must not enter any SPL ground or Hampden Stadium and will sign on at his local police station during the first half of every Celtic match.

    Deserves it

So you think Facebook should be a platform for the racists and sectarian people of the world? There is far more groups like that around yes but Facebook and the police should be getting rid of them all, it's quite right that they set this precedent.

What if Rangers have an away cup match to an SFL side that isn't Queen's Park on a day when Celtic aren't playing so then he can go to the match in the home end and spread his sectarian and racist bile. Incidentally in response to another post, the word hun isn't sectarian.

Why didn't they arrest the Rangers fans who were being racist and sectarian during the League Cup Final by singing "The Famine Song" and No Pope Of Rome"?

What makes this man guilty and the Rangers supporters at that game not?

people saying " but what about them how you no balancing the books" are being a bit hypocritical.

i dunno how anyone else feels but when r*******s fans come away with that usual stuff it annoys the * out of me. people should be caught and punished for stuff they did on an individual basis without having to balance it up with an arrest on the other side. as long as this is the principle carried forward, there will be many a sectarian bluenose in the dock in the months to come.

the guy has no defence whatsoever btw, racism has no place at celtic park and he should be banned.

The guy does have no defence, I agree and it's a disgrace what he said but there are some things on that page need dealt with also, it's not a case of balancing the books, it's more of a case of dealing with everybody no matter what team they support or even if they have an interest in football.

The guy is an eejit! Don't think these actions will fix the problem but they'll certainly help.

A guy that created an anti Lenny page on FB has just been arrested apparently

    * him, thats what he deserves for being racist.

I just wonder how long it will take for some people being arrested for anti-irish racism, not just on the internet but on the streets we walk in and the football stadiums we go to.

I wont hold my breath.

Deserves what he gets, we shouldn't lower ourselves to their level. Funny how its mainly this kind of thing being reported though and not the sick sites that are made up about us and Lenny on a daily basis.

how unsurprising that the first person done under these new laws is a Celtic fan; couldn't have predicted that eh?

fair enough if he's been making racist comments and he admitted it but surely to * if it it was posted on a "hate lennon page" the polis would be interested in the likely litany of racist and sectarian abuse spouted by the huns?

Why don't we all look on the net for anything sectarian from the shame then run to the police like the shame do

no not at all, i believe it is up to facebook to be their own police and sort it themselves. the police certainly do not have the resources to prosecute evry bigot or racist (celtic and rangers) on facebook, twitter or forums.

i certainly dont agree with racism and bigotry however i believe there is more threatening versions of this crime blatently out there and the police have taken the easy route and made an example of this chicken nugget. do i think he should be let off NO. however do i think it sets a dangerous president then yes.

its all good saying its a good president but when theres no bobbies on the beat because they are all scowering facebook or having to police facebook, when surley its facebooks responsibilty then thats what gets my back up.

to make it clear this ned should be punished hes been cauhgt now.:50:
