I've came round to the thinking that, if flares are going to get the club fined then just knock them on the head. Enough for * sake, they dont enhance an atmosphere, just sing.

That being said, the clubs statement is a joke. Calling into question a Celtic supporters credentials, a supporter who has just forked out probably 4/500 quid to go watch his team is crass in the extreme, not to mention the complete lack of condemnation for the actions of the Croation polis is just bullshit.

 

Yes you shouldn't have to listen to tons of hooligans jump and sing songs where going to a football match to look at the players not to get are eardrums burst of theses thugs with there devil word's they should be thrown in jail forever so nobody has to hear them making noise

 

the flare thing needs to stop not cause i don't like it but because we get continually dragged through the gutter because of it

we don't know yet why the police came wading in but the flare gives them a reason too

its not acceptable for decent everyday supporters who are obeying the rules to get caught up in police action because some arseholes want to keep being arseholes by breaking the rules and lighting flares at the games

the police wouldnt have a reason to wade in if all the fans were behaving

i see the guys that are breaking the rules are using the other celtic supporters as shields, that shouldnt be allowed to keep happening, just * chuck it

 

Couldn't agree more with the flare thing- I just don't get the appeal of the things. It just annoys me now any time I see them, whatever clubs fans might be waving them about.

The club & the GB should cooperate more. Surely the GB would rather the club didn't get fined and oblige?

Only season ticket holders or regular attendees should a voice on this. I get over a few times a year so count myself out on this one but its the wans who go every week that should be getting on to people about flairs and weather people should be using them or not.

Also that statement from the board is a disgrace.

 

There is absolutely nothing to suggest this was the GB.

 

But yeah, agree with the people saying they don't add to the atmosphere. Do they really? Is a player going to be like '*, there's a flair, the fans are really giving it their all, I'm gonna bust a gut for them'. Would rather the fans belted it out tbh.

Surely to * the GB won't do something if the club are going to get fined? That's extremely counter productive. These are normal people. With brains.

The GB can't be held responsible for what goes on in Croatia, Bulgaria or Aberdeen or wherever * sake- they have a section at Parkhead that rarely has any problems these days if any.

 

Sorry but this is so wrong.

The GB are bringing atmosphere to every match and singing for the bhoys on the pitch for 90 minutes. There passion translates to the players on the pitch. We have the same discussion here in Toronto and talking to some of the players they all say the same. They love the atmosphere and really feel it especially when we are behind them while there down, it does give them a push.

Fans/supporters have a role in making themselves heard every match no matter who the opposition. Bring the noise. Every minute. Every Game.
