EVERYONE at Celtic is disappointed by the news today that UEFA plan to open disciplinary proceedings against the Club following our match against GNK Dinamo Zagreb.
Around 1200 Celtic supporters enjoyed an excellent visit to Zagreb and were welcomed warmly by the city, enjoying a very friendly atmosphere. It is extremely disappointing therefore that the actions of one individual have had such a negative impact on the Club and other supporters at the match.
There can be absolutely no excuse for the use of flares or any other pyrotechnics. The threat to the health and safety of supporters caused by their use in football grounds is well known and we have repeatedly asked for this practice to stop.
The small handful of individuals who have been involved in behaviour of this kind in Zagreb and on other occasions have done nothing but embarrass the Club and tarnish the excellent and hard-earned reputation of Celtic supporters, who have invested time and money to travel and watch their team. As a Club, we try to do all we can to stop such behaviour, however, we can only do so much - people must take responsibility.
Those who choose to indulge in such behaviour are quite simply damaging Celtic Football Club, the Club which they claim to support.
We must protect the Club and our supporters. Clearly we will deal with any individuals identified in the strongest terms, however, we once again repeat our appeal for supporters to back the Club in the right way and demonstrate all that is great about Celtic.

Maybe it will take a closing of a section of the stadium or an away match ban to get it through to some that lighting flares is pish

How many times do we need to be pulled up for this stuff before folk just rap it?
They are banned, not allowed, so stop it. No point in the excuses of "aww, but they do it all the time on the continent" we've been dug for it repeatedly, so just pack it in.

If it's our safety Celtic are really worried about then why not mention the heavy handed brute force of the Zagreb police who stormed in with batons and cs spray.. Spraying it in the face of a * woman in the meantime.

We light flares, we get punished. Let's move on.

It's never going to stop is it - so lets take the slap on the wrist, and get on with it.

Celtic selling the fans that travelled down the river, in order to appease the media.

Charge isn't even pyro related. Its police using batons and gas.

Club literally have no balls what so ever.

Our stewards..OUR TRAVEL STEWARDS were in swinging digs at their police. Let that sink in and think what happened over.

Suppose its easier for the internet bedwetters to jump in with ban ra lot of them.

Honest to *, the statement is disgusting. The charge doesn't relate to the flare so the only reason possible that Celtic are focusing on the flare is to make out one person as the scapegoat. Sleekit *.

Absolute * embarrassment mate, that a spokesperson who's being paid by the club can * question a person who's spent a fortune on travelling to support the team in a meaningless game's support.

Once again a shocking statement from Celtic. :31:
