If I thought there were people genuinely causing trouble I wouldn't complain but this is just ridiculous.

Seriously? How can anyone get fined for flying a normal flag? There are loads of country's flags at every game you'll see on TV.

I tell what happened over there:

Police came one side of the support, another row came the other. At the other side of the stand. Both drew batons. At one side they began swinging and using cs gas.

The other was about too. Its clear both where going to meet in the middle, swinging and gassing as the go.

Celtic travel stewards waded in on supporters behalf. Throwing punches and pushing them back, along with other supporters. They deserve tremendous credit for that. I'm usually first to slag them too.

Cops were scum. Couldn't give a * what UEFA say. Our support done well over there.

It was deemed political because of what was going on in Gaza. * ridiculous yet I actually don't remember a Club statement about it at the time and haven't heard anything since.

They probably just paid it because there was no way of getting off the rules are there so it would of costing us more money to fight it with this we can probably win it

It was deemed political. It's ok to fly the Israeli flag though

Embarrassingly, I don't think we contested the fine though, unlike teams such as Dundalk, and I'm sure St. Johnstone did as well.

    Thanks. Thanks Murphy.

It really is ridiculous. At nearly every match at the World Cup there was at least one Israeli flag. That is perfectly fine, it's a country's flag but that is what the Palestinian flag represents too.

Really makes you want to rage.

Mind you when I was at the Maribor game a guy next to me said in the 50s and 60s you couldn't take the Irish flag into Parkhead. Amazing

Well said our support has won awards and we are not on trial. If some * cops or other fans are attacking you then you have the right to defend yourself.

Our fans are the club and if we are in physical danger then then the reputation of our club is not going to be the first thing a person thinks about when put in that situation.

The people on here calling our own away fans scum, rid the club etc need to get a grip. The police were heavy handed. End of.

Why don't the fans who were attacked all get together and make a statement describing the unprovoked attacks by the police.
Lay a charge against UEFA for bringing the game into disrepute by their actions if they fine Celtic.
Take it to the law courts if necessary.

Quicker there banned indefinitely then the decent support can go back to travelling to games and not fearing getting battered for teenage ultra thugs
