As I already said mate, we conceded 4 away at Astana the other week. 4 in total against Beer-Sheva last season, another 2 over the two legs vs Astana again.

Extremely lucky not to have been a couple down at home this season vs RBK.

We are so open and easy to score against in Europe it's tragic, and this is against average as * sides.

We will be lucky to reach and progress in the UEL if things are not tightened up at the back.

Only thing I want Neymar to do with his shirt is tie it around his head covering his eyes and walk * through a cactus field.

I'm not 100% convinced about the keeper yet either. But he's still only 24, so may develop into a top notch goalie.

What the * their left back and their goalie were totally fine, atleast when you look at last nights game. They were better on every single position not just on the paper.

Sounds like someone who already has more than enough pain in his life without us turning on him too. Poor guy lost the head and did something extremely stupid that has only hurt him, no one else. I'm with SD on this: he doesn't deserve our protection; but neither does he deserve us turning on him.

He'll get a ban, hopefully a proportionate one not a life one, and he's in court (again I hope the punishment is proportionate not excessive). We let him get on with it and hope he sorts his life out IMO.

I'm still a little in shock over this. I thought we'd most likely lose narrowly, hoped we'd sneak a draw or 1-goal win and feared we'd take a 3-0 or 4-1 beating.

It literally never occurred to me in my worst nightmares that we (especially this team!) could lose 5-0 at home to anyone.

    Genuinely stunned.

Its always heartbreaking to watch us lose by such a margin, but we were up against a team who will most likely go on to reach the semis, or even the final of the competition. We took a bad beating from barca at the beginning of the last campaign and went on to have some decent results against city. Im confident of us recovering and doing better in the future fixtures.

L'equipe ratings. Funny that they only gave one player in the PSG team an 8 even though they won 5-0

But at least they gave it to the best player on the night, and not just one of the "Superstars"

Yes, on Tuesday night the goalie and left-back did just fine. I was thinking of the bigger picture, when they have to get a result in the Camp Nou or the Bernabeu, those two positions are the ones that might leave them exposed.

My sister used to live in Paris, and I still watch every PSG game on the internet or TV. The current squad is awesome, and a joy to watch, but those two positions concern me.

Its not that shocking when you consider that ntcham is the only player we signed who would be an improvement on the squad we had last year ,bottom of the group without a win

Do bear in mind trying to improve this squad enough so that we can be competitive at this level is getting more and more difficult as the years go by.

Up until the Astana away leg we hadn't conceded a goal in Europe.

Though I agree, we're still shaky at the back and I never actually fancy us to keep a clean sheet, certainly not at CL group stage level.

I don't entirely disagree but to temper that point a bit, we need to get our first team defence up and fit. Beer Sheva was at a very early juncture in Brendan's tenure.

Astana and PSG with makeshift defences. Doesn't excuse it but I'm interested to see what we can do fully fit.

Its impossible to even pretend to be competitive if you go into go into a game like this with fit 1 cb and a young guy who has played 4 times before

Even still we could have given kolo a rather handsome 6 month deal and he wouldn't have changed much and I believe he's still quality enough for us and the cl.

Depending on how true it is Jozo was hardly cheap and look the stupid pen he cost us, even still as good as he is trying to find another Jozo is likely to set us back a cool £5mill.

We spend that much on a cb in the window just gone then someone out of ntcham, Roberts or Edouard wouldn't be here and we would all just be lamenting the failings of the board then failing to bring Roberts back and not bringing in improvements in other areas.

Not entirely true, we where close to getting Roberts on a perm, i imagine that was around 8m and it never happened, so money is there and we wouldnt of missed out on our other targets. Hopefully we get a cb in jan and bed him in.

In some ways I disagree, all hypothetical obviously but paying 4.5 for ntcham, same again on a new CB, loan fee for Edouard and then 8mill on Roberts not forgetting potential wage demands that come with players at those kinda fees, then I feel one of those wouldn't have actually made it here, or at the very least we would have seen the likes of Armstrong and someone sold as we know the board like to keep things even and balanced
