    No but fans take tabloid rumour as fact. Opportunity to slate the board I suppose

    Anyway, £2,7m is a huge price for a Scunthorpe United player.

    I would nearly say that it would take a english club's finances to meet another english club's price tag.

    Even though I think this Hooper could be a good addition, I isn't sure I would pay more than £1,5m-£2m.

    But - all depending on the reliability in the Sun story. Not the first time I have read that he was nearly a 'Boro player. But even blind chickens... they could be right this time.

    20 goals last season in championship, 30 goals previous season in league 1, he certainly knows where the net is. If he signed i'd say he'd score a lot of goals.

    that would leave us with Fortune, Rasmussen, Samaras, Hooper, Mcgowan up front.

    he could be a class siging, although if i had 2 million to spend i'd be tempted to go for Kamara.

    Any chance we can change the thread title to something with Gary Hooper in it? I think the old article is kind of irrelevant now.

    But;

    “Gary has been here since last Wednesday and is training hard – he’s a great lad and just gets on with his job,” he said.
    “We can’t do anything about the fact there will always be speculation.
    “All summer we’ve had it, but right now he is training hard. It’s always better if these things are done in private.”
