Sampdoria's general manager Beppe Marotta has slammed Celtic’s valuation of Italian midfielder Massimo Donati and revealed that, as a result, Donati’s SPL exit has stalled.

Marotta claims Donati wants the move but Samp are unwilling to meet the 'incredible' asking price for the former AC Milan star.

“The player seems willing to come here,” Marotta said. “But the problem is Celtic want too much money.

“At the moment the price they want is incredible.”

not sure if there's allready a thread .

Fair enough, let's find another club to try and punt him to, we shouldn't drop our asking price for anybody.

you'd think we would be trying to sell him off cheaply, the asking price cant be that huge! surely no more than 1.5 mill?

Wee shug on clyde 1 news today said Celtic have stated they are not looking to sell and they want Donati to stay.

Obviously if someone makes a stupid offer he'll go, but it seems he's still very much part of WGS's plans.

surely we'd just look to recoup the money we spent on him? it's not as if his performances have justifed hios value going above what we paid for him...I could understand if Celtic slapped a £10million price tag on him, that is incredible....

The thing is that as we are selling Donati (as opposed to him asking to leave) we will need to pay up his loyalty bonuses etc so we need to cover that in the fee as well.

Nae flies on Peter Lawell - we might reduce the fee if Donati doesn't want paid aff.

TBH, I just want him out the door, he's dead wood. Anything over 7 figures would seem fine to me.

It´s about time we played hardball with our assets. Far too many players in the past have left for peanuts.

Does the fact that teams are complaining we are asking too much for him, not tell you that we won't?

To be fair I dont think Sampdoria would have seen many SPL games really and he performed well against an intimidating Milan performance at Parkhead and He scored against Shakther so it should be just under what we paid for him would be my valuation...

Although i wouldnt mind him going for less ...
