Broadcast rights for it aren’t just down to Celtic because, it’s down to the league they’re in, would need bought and a set agreement with the league.

Probably something we are really not interested in that. The old reserve games, is it Setanta deal time? Celtic TV was a Sky channel and part of the Setanta deal, showed reserve games. Hun TV as well.

Think the channels round then were actually owned by Setanta but not certain on that part. It gave a lot of hype for young guys that we’d never see anyway that. I’m sure the games weren’t broadcast live either, most of the time. We all loved Teddy Bjarnsson at the time cos of that. Actually played well his only appearance the game Broony squared upto Lenny for Hibs when he was talking to us

Shocking how thats just allowed to happen yet they can't do it to Irish youth players or Spanish or anywhere else.

Like Doak, if Scotland had the same rules as anywhere else for English teams signing youth players, Liverpool would have probably paid £5million or something for him and gave us a sell on clause etc to get him at 18.

But cause we are both in the UK they can just take them for compensation at 16. Scottish teams basically at a disadvantage compared to any other countries youth players.

That boy Chelsea are signing from Kairat for example will never happen with a boy from Scotland as they can leave for compensation at 16. So nobody has to fight to pre-agree to sign them at 18.

 

It has to change at some point..

 

Im sure the Scottish and English FAs and probably the others have agreements for National teams, technically I think like anyone born in England could really play for Scotland but they made up their own self imposed rules like someone has to live in a country for 5 years or whatever or else they'll not choose them.

The SFA should be in contact with the FA sorting out a new rule like Scottish players can't be signed by English clubs until they are 18 or if thats illegal then English teams signing Scottish youth under 18 need to include like a 50% sell on clause.
