Need to be realistic but mate. Even if we beat the likes of Ajax, we'll get paired with Sevilla or Spurs in the next round. I'd hope for Auxerre but knowing our luck with draws, we'll get the hardest out the bunch.

 

getting to see teams like that wouldn't bother me, europe isn't the priority this year so i'd we saw quality teams than got put out and it was an upset.

 

Tuff * on Celtic ,they are in this situtation due to not winning a league that they should be running amok in ,if they dont get in ,* mend them m,lesson learned ,dont take anything for granted.

 

S'ppose. * Lawell coming out and apologising to the fans for an 'unacceptable season'. We had the chance to win the league at the start of the season without even kicking a ball. Rangers couldn't buy a single player and Celtic didn't buy any guys who looked convincing of winning a league. Oh well, they learned their lesson and hopefully won't do the same this season round.

Celtic will be unseeded for Champions League tilt

Celtic will face a tough test in their first Champions League qualifier after confirmation they will not be seeded at any stage of the qualifying rounds. Fenerbahce's failure to win the title moved Celtic into the unseeded pot.
Celtic, who have yet to appoint a new manager, could face the Turks, Zenit St Petersburg, Ajax or Dinamo Kiev in the third qualifying round.
The Scots will discover their opponents on 16 July, with the first leg taking place 11 days later.

Celtic could face another difficult challenge to make the group stages if they progress from their initial tie, with Tottenham, Sevilla and Werder Bremen assured of a place among the play-off seeds.
Defeat at the first hurdle would put Celtic into the final qualifying round for the Europa League.
Failure at the second hurdle, where the Parkhead club lost to Arsenal last season, would put them straight into the Europa League group stages again.
The first leg of the third qualifying round will take place on 27/28 July and the return game the following week.

not good news at all bhoys and ghirls i suspose no matter who we got we would have had a tough time of it but this is very bad news

we'll win our 3rd qualifier and lose play-off imo unless we get lucky.

 

I'd prefer to draw a bigger team (not of Arsenal proportion) as I feel we perform better as underdogs.

 

I hope there is a radical investment in the squad to improve the quality .

 

Some of they teams wont fancy meeting Celtic at any stage either .

Sadly not. Bit ridiculous when you think about it. But we ain't played too many games and have been unlucky many times.
