Not bothered what Alan Archibald thinks but I don't like the idea of postponing league games to play in friendlies. * waste of time when the serious stuff has already started. Would imagine BR and the players could do without it as well, don't know how much money it's worth but it's a pain in the *.

If Partick Thistle were offered a few hundred-thousand or a few million to participate in a tournament that meant they had to postpone a league game you can bet your bottom dollar they would do so in a heartbeat.

you do realise we are more or less at as low as we are going to get coeffecient wise? if you removed us we would still be ahead of all the really diddy leagues like wales, so would still get 4 european spots, only the difference is a team like aberdeen might have a chance of getting in europa league group stages through champions league qualifiers safety net.

celtics coeffeicent is doing * all to help other teams right now

on the point of the friendly against inter milan, well it is just one weekend and we don't usually start this early anyway, Im sure aberdeen have got a couple games moved to play high profile friendlies too so much a do about nothing

It's a joke of a rule, postponing league games for Mickey Mouse friendlies, embarrassing.

Fair enough he has a point.....but don't all teams have the option to play a glamour tie at this early stage of the season?

These friendlies are worth about 2.5m a pop from what I've heard so Archibald can just get it up em basically.

These glamour friendlies are whats paying for new signings and wages,so if you don't want us to get far in Europe carry on with that attitude and it'll be teams like Thistle all year round.

if any SPL club were invited to play Barca or ManU would they turn it down?

they got plenty of notice and done nothing about setting up a fixture so the only reason they are not playing this weekend is down to their own clubs management.

fixtures get postponed all the time due to weather or teams not able to drain water from pitches so the postponement in itself is not the problem. Some fixtures get moved for tv and clubs never protest though fans do.

It's farcical that teams who win there respective leagues have to play qualifiers for a competition called the Champions League. 2nd and 3rd placed teams get in, while those who finished fourth only need to play 1 round of games and that the competition has been manufactured to make it as easy as possible to give them as easy a route possible.

He should have organised one for Thistle then. The rules a bit bonkers, should have been in place only the year the league got moved back a couple of seasons.

Take a couple million quid for that tbh.

Moneys hard to come by in our league and these are licrative friendlies. Hardly ever take a doing either.

Who have we had a doing off yet please remind me, oh thats right one of the best footballing sides on the planet, of course i would rather be going to the league game tomorrow, but these games bring in much needed revenue and help fund transfers, so if thats what needs must then so be it

We are entitled to our opinion dude , Yes money is important but I would be disappointed to pay top dollar for a glamour friendly and see the second or third 11 turnout .

If you aren't Celtic Football Club, and your match is postponed due to a friendly, it very much is farcical.

When you put your Celtic hat on, it's a no-brainer and something we aren't in a position to turn down.

Every man for themselves, footballs a dog eat dog business and we're playing catch up year in, year out.

Only thing farcical about this friendly is the fact the fai or whoever organised it planned to have the game for the same date and time as the Limerick FC match which had to move to a 2pm kick off instead. Surely this would have been a better game to have in Glasgow espeically if the rules about no standing count as this cuts the capacity from 25,000 to 15,000.
