Hartley was one of our most consistant players last season. he doesn't need alot of pace when he can read the game that well.

Hartley was outstanding during the run in last season and was one of the key men in us winning the title. Thought he had a good game last night against Porto as well.

Agreed - it no coincedence that we started winning when him and Robbo were back in the team. Flair is nice but gritty determined players win games.

    ARE YOU STONED?????

he is the fittest guy at the club, works as hard as anyone, go watch the first april game we played against rangers, he takes the ball of them constantly and feeds it forward, and the cross he gave 2 nights ago to jan was as perfect as naka could do, and it was robson and hartleys midfield work that turned our season around

:97: thats what I was thinking..... there are better players than him out there, but few with the passion he has! him and Robson did turn the season for us.

Hartley is someone who will wear the armband soon. A true fighter, good thinker and reader of the game. And he can pass. I don't know how many players converted their roles in Celtic and were better after the switch, but Hartley's transition from AM to DM was a complete success. Bravo to WGS for that.

Couldnt disagree more mate, yeah he was never the quickest, but he was the lynch pin of our team. got stuck in, broke play up and an amazing reader of a game, also an amazing motivator of other players. We have never got near replacing him.

Described by Peter Reid ( who was a * of a midfielder himself) as probably the second best midfield general in the EPL, just prior to signing for Celtic. Reid enquired about him for Sunderland then, and rated him at that time just behind a Keane in his prime.

Ok ill admit Lennon & Hartley might not be/have been the most glamorous players in a celtic team but they certainly are one of the most important players in there side as celtic would not cope in europe without that style of player & probably not have got 3 in a row without them because the game is won & lost in the middle of the park & if youve not got players capable of winning the ball & stoping others playing which hartley does very well then youll struggle. All the big sides have them e.g. man utd - Hargreves chelsea - makalele essien Ac milan - gatusso Real -diarra gago

I agree with Lyle. Lennon was a rock in our midfield, I had so much admiration and respect for him, possibly our most important midfielder in the past few years he was awesome! anyone who didnt like him because he didnt score goals must know * all bout football!
