For a club as big as Celtic, no where near the big earners league in Europe is a travesty.
We need to sort out the TV deals or it's time to quit SPL, that's the only way a big club like us can become a rich club.
Celtic are being wasted stuck here in the SPL.

There is no reason us and the huns could not go it alone and offer the other SPL clubs a share of our media profits which would leave them better off than the current sky/espn earnings they recieve.
The only problem I see with this is will the huns be happy with us earning more money than them even though their own revenue would increase.
But in their current state they may have to acceot this.

Hence why the club are trying to break into foreign markets to increase revenue, to reinvest in the team. It'll be interesting to see how Fifa's new financial rules pan out and how they affect the global game.

Very true but I reckon that a many of the clubs wouldn`t be able to survive financially in a league minus Celtic and Rangers. The majority of teams in this league are budget reliant on Celtic and Rangers games.

Put another spin on your point, Celtic and Rangers break away and form another league. I feel the attraction of having both teams would attract the likes of Hibs, Aberdeen and others to break-away. Despite the opinions of Yorkston and Mcrae at Dunfermline and QOS, these clubs and no doubt many others in that league would be more attracted to a league containing Celtic and Rangers.

Personally I would like to see Celtic go the route as many have mentioned before in negoatiating their own TV Deal.

Fox Sports in Mexico & latin america has an exclusive deal with Celtic this season. They play only Celtic matches from the SPL. I'd be interested in knowing how much we make out of the deal and how long it will last.

The fifa financial plan will not level the playing field, so its a waste of time thinking when it comes around, we will be able to compete with england, we still won't.
Clubs with wealthy benefactors can find ways round the plan in order to get the clubs books break even, thats how these men got rich in the first place.

So i wouldn't put too much heart in Fifa, its just a way to show the other leagues they are at least trying to do something, but the plan is too soft and its flawed.

Outside the big 5 leagues in Europe only 1 other is mentioned and that is Scotland. A country of only 5.5 million people. We should see it as good news that our 2 biggest clubs are recieving the 10th and 14th most matchday revenue. But as usual, people use it as fuel to have a fresh go at Scottish football and the smaller clubs in the league. This is the way Scottish football is and no matter what it will stay like this. All the commercial money goes to the "big 5" leagues in Europe so if we keep our matchday revenue as high as it is our clubs performances in Europe will improve which is the ONLY way the standard of Scottish football can improve. Look back the the 2007/08 season when Celtic qualified for the last 16 of the CL, Aberdeen the last 32 of the Uefa and Rangers the final. After that commercial revenue in Scottish football improved greatly, putting the SPL into the top 10 co-efficient in Europe. Since then European performances have dipped, the co-efficient has dipped and commercial revenue has dipped. Better performances result in better commercial revenue. But the Matchday revenue is a very, very helathy statistic.
