Fair enough. Commercially sensitive just now but I'm sure we can figure it out when the accounts are published. I'm just glad we've got some steady guaranteed income coming along.

I never mentioned actual Ireland, only the fake ginger-beard-leprochaun-guinness-hat-tickity-teee-top-o-the-morn-versions from whom one can drain copious amounts of currency.
One of my best ever memories was being with a genuine Irish girl on St Paddy's day once, which allowed me by itself to attain many more girls, who were only of Irish persuasion in their pretty little noggins. But I digress...

Magners is my fave cider :icon_mrgreen:

I see 416 Huns were in a thread when the news was breaking and only 200 odd in here,
And we are the paranoid ones.

Of course it dilutes it - if you are trying to suggest that a major company with subsidiaries sponsoring 2 clubs in the same country is the same as in separate countries, then frankly you may be beyond help - the difference is inextricably linked in the words "same" versus "separate." Differing countries provide a variable to the argument, which inevitably dilutes it! Sorry, but that is a logical conclusion anyone comes to.

Again - and for the last time, as I am beginning to wonder whether I have become an extra in a Bill Murray film and repeating myself is getting beyond tedious - the "joint" I was referring to is being sponsored by one and the same company. Bearing in mind C&C would be that company, this is irrefutable!

RE paragraph 3, that is your own preference and of course you are entitled to it - my preference is a clean break, hence why a dual (if you prefer that word to "joint" and it allows me to break off from this rather bizarre debate) sponsorship in terms of the same uber company sponsoring both clubs is insufficient for my requirements.

Dress it up as you like - in the instance I refer to, would both clubs be sponsored by subsidiaries of C&C? Yes. Does this infer a split along the lines of what the vast majority of our support would like? No.

Again - that is the end of that.

I would like to know an exact figure myself mate but they're never gonna divulge confidential corporate * like that are they?
They don't tell us how much a player is on when we sign him up.

One of the journos will probably let loose the figure in a few months.

Havin a magners when Sevco die? I wonder what it will look like on the top, can imagine Sevco fans losing the plot if its Magners Irish Cider. They will be claiming its a sectarian sponsor lol

Sponsors arent going to pay much to alienate their consumers or potential consumers so is this not a good compromise? How do you propose that Celtic make up the financial shortfall for being idealistic over something more 'practical'?

Are Rangers doing a deal with C&C or one of their subsidiaries for the next 3 seasons, is that confirmed?

If we play in Ireland will it be Bulmers? Abroad is it Magners or Bulmers?

Magners recently bought tennants for £180 million. Same company in theory. Just a note on the managing director of magners who spoke at th conference. He's from the falls road in Belfast.

Demps, this is purely theoretical - and as a compromise, I would say it's without doubt better (if this is the case) than what was the case before.

What I am trying to get across, however, is that IF this is what happens, it would be gamesmanship to an extent by the board, as opposed to the clean break the supporters groups were clearly desiring as per their statement made some months ago. I don't think either of us would dispute that.

Do Magners have sole ownership over multi-million pound sponsorship deals, without any possible involvement by the Company that owns them? Working as a subsidiary to a larger company as I do, I am afraid to say that this logic is simply unrealistic. The deal is with C&C too.

EDIT - as an aside, you say "fact" with no actual knowledge whatsoever about who was at the table when the sponsorship deal was struck mate. Same as me - but I am openly admitting to dealing in conjecture - and experience, based on current employment and "big brother" ownership.

The Board had this deal done before the AGM though and usually joint sponsorships are announced on the same day. The board stated then that they wouldnt be doing a clean break for the sake of it and they havent.

Its speculation of the highest order to say that Green & Lawwell had private conversations and are conspiring to trick both Celtic fans and Sevco fans about shirt sponsorship!
