The guy appears to come over from Germany quite a few times per year playing against SPFL teams (similar to what I do). That is obviously not glory hunting.

Mate, see some of the threads I've dived into, I assure you I know that it feels like when you just want to strangle someone. :icon_mrgreen: I'm not signalling you out either, respect has to go both ways. I just think this is a really good thread and I'd hate to see it get shut down.

At the end of the day we need to remember that we're all fellow bhoys and ghirls. We are Celtic supporters, which means we are family. I don't know you from Adam, but I know we're brothers, and that's all I need to know. :shamrock:

Take it you know the guy personally ?

Is every Celtic fan from outwith Glasgow a sad, tragic, glory hunter with no connection to the team ?

You come across as a right ignorant muppet.

The ra rang up and gave clear warning and the cops didn't evacuate the area. Hence my post. Not evacuating the area came from very high up to turn people against the cause.

People are getting far too bogged down in specific examples here, I think in the broader view the Celtic support has always sympathised and. largely, actively supported Irelands struggle to Unite the island. Debating specific incidents that any organisation has carried out, whether that be the Provos, the IRA, The British Army etc etc. doesn't detract from that fact in anyway.

As a fanbase we have always been decidedly Republican when it comes to Ireland. A lot of the time we do get bogged down in specifics, people debate the morality of what was carried out during the Troubles in Ireland, with the same sort of attacks being carried out before that period being exempt from criticism for some reason.

I think it is foolish and very much denying history for any Celtic fan to deny that we, as a fanbase, have always supported the cause of a United Ireland. It is also extremely foolish, to attack the Celtic support as a whole because of these beliefs. It will not change and nor should it.

Seemingly free staters are entitled to freedom but us brit nordies should take our medicine and forever live under British rule.

Don't really understand how you can say what the OIRA done was justified but what the Provos done wasn't, if anything the Provos were more justified. The OIRA goal was to be able to rule their own country and become a Republic whereas Catholics in the North were facing open Sectarianism in the Government, Police, Judicial system, kept in slums were the vast majority had to rely on welfare as companies wouldn't hire them because of their religion or school they went to...but aye real scumbags for fighting against that, the morality of it all:rolleyes:

Ps here's the statistics on civilian kills ect. [IMG]
