Wasn't expecting that but that's Ange for ya..

 

Team looks a wee bit dodgy since a lot of our play goes through Taylor and Hatate so not to have both and then not to have both or Jota whos probably the guy we'd want to unlock a team if we don't have the build up play of Taylor and Hatate.

 

Pretty disappointed to see a midfield with O’Riley and Mooy when we've got Iwata needing game time. The starting duo is a bit too one paced for me..

Bernabei in as well from the cold. Big night for him..

No overly surprised to see Tony back in. No worries there....although could be rusty..

Lot of changes (I expected some with Saturday in mind) but they've clearly prioritised the weekend big time with their starting 11..

Would've preferred Haksa over Maeda but over than that happy enough with the midfield and attack. Don't mind Ralston starting as he's due a game but would've preferred not to change both FB's.

Any news on Taylor?

 

Ralston and Abada combine well together.

 

Really wanted Bernabei to do well. Would have loved us to have a cracking Argentinian, but he looks miles off of what we need. Hope he proves me wrong tonight. He has some great bursts forward at times, but his defending, positioning, passing and often first touch are all pretty poor.

 

Maeda tonight on the big park. Abada and Jota on Sat at Tynecastle....

 

I fully expect Maeda to start at Tynecastle. It will be the perfect game for his style of play. It would have made some sense to rest him today ahead of Saturday's game, but he played just 45 minutes against St Mirren. Forwards almost never play 90 minutes. I bet he'll get some rest in the second half. Btw, this isn't the case with wing backs. They almost never get subbed. Maybe this is why Ange opted for both Ralston and Bernabei.

 

Interesting, that many changes gives me the fear after St Mirren earlier in the season. Suppose it's been a while since we've had a midweek game so not really had to freshen up in the sam way. Jota, Hatate and Haksabanovic all proven game changers so the options are there from the bench if needed.

 

Slightly concerned by the starting 11, particularly swapping both full backs, but on paper should be more than enough to dispatch the mini hun *.
Defo agree that I’d like to see iwata start and be given more game time. I’d have started turnbull before O Reilly. He’s not been on it very much this season. (Hope he proves me wrong the night and scores a banger!)

Not too fussed about the midfield since both are playing well and both look really sharp atm. Plus I really want to see Iwata, McGregor and Hatate line up them against on Sat.

Changing the two full backs is a slight worry but should be fine. Going for Bernie to score tonight.

I expected changes but no as many or the ones in..

Think we work best in midfield when we have 2 out of 3 with the mobility/energy to get about. When we only have 1 out of the 3, the tempo isn't usually the same in our play..

Expected Abada in. Would've played Iwata and maybe thrown Oh in but we'll get the job done..
Only slight concern is Bernabei defensively..

O'Riley has been better of late but for me it should be him or Mooy, no both..

I just think the small Tynecastle pitch might not give him the room to do his thing, as we saw at St Mirren on Sunday. Hope I'm wrong and he has a blinder on Sat if picked.
