We were * in the pre-season games last season too. I remember seeing some awful games against weaker sides and also got pumped by an Ajax B-side. But hey, we all know how that season worked out...

The thing that bothers me about these friendlies is that some players are being played out of position Dylan at right back? Why is that a good exercise for the good of the team or him. Surely everyone should be sharpening up in there own department. Don't care re result really but 6 is a joke.

Most of those goals were really soft n would be dealt differently if the players had a competitive fire in their bellies.

I think all of their goals were soft - some a lot more than other, especially their 6th one.

Whether it's a mixed case of new players in the team, having younger players there, changing the formation, players out of position, fitness or even maybe the players thinking "Ach, it's only a friendly" who knows. With it being a friendly I'm not really THAT worried but if the friendly against Union Berlin is like this one then I'll be a wee bit more worried especially as the game after one is the 1st leg against Cliftonville

Injury situation must be bad as Celtic have flown in another 3 youngsters for the final tour game against Union Berlin. Jackson Irvine, Stuart Findlay and Mikey Miller are the bhoys called upon.

F.Twardzik gets played at left-back too a lot in friendlies. It's madness when fans are looking to be impressed by these players and they are played there. I mind people used to think F.Twardzik was a left-back "Is Filip the left back or is that the brother" :52: both of them are attacking midfielders/playmakers or Patrick can also play up front.

I know the results aren't overly important in these pre-season friendlies, but i'm hoping tonight we'll see a similar lineup/formation to what we can expect in the Champions League qualifier next week.

Union Berlin beat Dundee United 4-1 in a friendly last week - just for anyone who's interested and not that it means anything significant.

In 2009 they also announced their chairman was a former Stasi agent and got a sponsorship out of it according to wiki :smiley-laughing002:

Results don't mean anything but i would like to see a win tonight. Not worried at losing 6-2 or if we lose 6-2 again but still.

7:15 pm kick-off UK GMT. It's live on Celtic TV so you'll be able to get a fairly average stream online (VIP, First Row etc...).

Union Berlin have just had their stadium re-vamped and (I think) a new stand put in, apparantly it's a full-house, so might make for decent viewing.

Me too mate, not necessarily to give me hope, though. Just to give them a wee confidence boost going into Wednesday's game :50:
